A few days ago, the popular international beauty brand, Forest Essentials launched their new campaign, Yuvati Selection. It is a social initiative that aims to provide children from underprivileged backgrounds with access to education and awareness. However, it is the new face of the brand that has been gaining a lot of attention. Well, the official Instagram handle of the brand dropped a video from their event, 'Because Your Dreams Matter'. The video started with the introduction of the brand's face, Maleesha Kharwa, a 14-year-old girl from Mumbai's Dharavi slum. The video was captioned as:

"Amidst the fragrant spring blooms and the magic of the evening, we gathered to celebrate the power of dreams and resilience. As Maleesha's spirit soared, we were reminded that no dream is too big, and every journey is worth taking."

In the video, the social media influencer and the brand's face, Maleesha looked happy and confident. She can be seen clicking pictures with the guests and celebrities who were present at the event. For her special day, she looked beautiful in a pink-coloured floral-printed dress that featured ruffle detail on the neckline. She ditched accessories and makeup and completed her look with flats and open tresses.

In an interview with Vogue, Maleesha had opened up about becoming the face of the new campaign of Forest Essentials. Talking about the same, the model and dancer expressed her happiness about achieving such a milestone in her life. She mentioned that this is the biggest job of her life and it changed her life for good. In her words:

"This is my biggest job till date, and it has changed my life so much. I want to be a model, but education will always come first for me."

Who is Maleesha Kharwa?

Maleesha Kharwa is a 14-year-old girl from the slums of Mumbai. She was discovered in Mumbai in 2020 by Hollywood actor, Robert Hoffman, who later set up a 'Go Fund Me' page for her. Back to the present day, Maleesha has over 2.5 lakhs followers on Instagram. Moreover, she proudly calls herself, 'Princess of the Slum.' Being an aspiring model and actor, she has even worked in a short film, Live Your Fairytale.

For the unversed, it was in March 2023, when the IG handle of Forest Essentials unraveled the new face of their campaign, Yuvati. The brand dropped a video of Maleesha, which contains a montage of several clips. In the video, she looked happy, joyous and confident and reflected the true spirit of the brand's new campaign, Yuvati. Along with the video, the brand introduced Maleesha and wrote:

"Meet @maleeshakharwa A Dreamer. A Pathbreaker. A Yuvati."
