For any girl, a wedding is a life-changing event. She dreams of wearing the prettiest lehenga and looking her best. From searching every store for a dreamy lehenga to finalising the best MUAs, wedding shopping is not for the faint-hearted. However, the day often gets ruined by people's careless comments, especially when the person is your makeup artist. Recently, a bride looked uncomfortable after the makeup artist pointed at her cut marks.
Recently, a video surfaced on Reddit, wherein a makeup artist was getting her bride ready. The clip started with the makeup artist holding her bride's arm and pointing at her cut marks. She shared that when a bride comes with a 'kaand' like this, a makeup artist has to hide it. The makeup artist showed how a bride can hide these things with the first dupatta and draping it over her hand. In the clip, the MUA made an uncomfortable remark and said:
"Jab koi aisa kaand karke aati hai toh apko isko chupana hota hai. Hai na chupana hota hai. Iske liye hum jo first dupatta hota hai uske pin se drape krege and then hum peeche se aayege is dupatta ko hum yaha par nahi tuck karege, apne bride ke hum kaand chupane ke liye aise rakhege."
While the bride was laughing, she was pointing with a 'no' at the word 'kaand'. Her unease was clearly visible. On top of it, it was her wedding day. The makeup artist in the video is Anu Kapila. She has over 114K followers on her Instagram handle, where she shares videos with her bride.
As soon as the video surfaced, netizens expressed their opinions on the matter. One user highlighted how the makeup artist was triggering her traumas, and wrote, "Kaand Chupana? Another one commented on how makeup artists publicise everything, and commented, "Bro I’m scared to choose MUA for my wedding, these people literally publicising everything about their clients." The third user penned, "Man, I hope the woman wasn't self-harming to avoid the marriage or something. She looks OK but who knows what's happening. And the MUA trying to normalise it is an idiot."
A fourth one highlighted how the makeup reminded them of Parul Garg, and said, "How are they so comfortable, smiling and giggling, and camera shoved in their chest. .reminds of Parul Garg. Always using cheap tactics for views. Models are paid but brides pay for their makeup and they use such tactics to gain views and publicity. How is this the new normal?" Another user shared how to overlook the cut marks as a basic manners, so that nobody gets triggers, "I thought she was showing a tattoo or something. I meet a lot of people in my college, and I always make it a point to overlook their wrist cuts whenever I talk to them. The least you can do as a MUA is to not be insensitive around these things."
