Mahira Khan has emerged as one of the biggest superstars in contemporary times. The actress stepped into Pakistani showbiz with the 2011 film, Bol, and has then worked on other popular projects such as Humsafar, Sadqay Tumhare, Bin Roye, Verna, Razia and many more. Moreover, Mahira also ventured into Bollywood with the 2017 film, Raees, in which she starred opposite Shah Rukh Khan. She will be next seen in Netflix's series, Jo Bachay Hain Sang Samait Lo and film, Neelofer.

Mahira is an immensely talented and versatile actress, a wonderful wife, and a doting mom. For those who don’t know, the Pakistani actress recently married businessman, Salim Karim in an intimate ceremony in October 2023. She was previously married to Ali Askari, and the estranged couple co-parent their only son, Azlan.

Mahira Khan shared an unheard anecdote behind her ethereal wedding pictures

Recently, Mahira interacted with Aamna Haider Isani on her YouTube channel. The two discussed the actress’ sartorial picks for her various projects. Moreover, Mahira also elaborated on her looks from the different ceremonies of her wedding. Up first, the two talked about Mahira’s nikah look, which literally took everyone’s breath away. For the ceremony, the actress wore a Faraz Manan sequinned lehenga, featuring puffy long-sleeved-choli and a scalloped-border dupatta. Revealing the secret behind her ethereal wedding picture, Mahira said:

“That was by chance. I didn't know this but wedding photographers wo aapki tasveerein lete hai before the nikah. That I was like no, I said that I cannot shoot with Salim before we sign the nikah papers. He should see me afterwards right so that's what I wanted. Then finally when I got there, I entered, I was separate in another corner, and he was in another corner, also in a sehra and I had my veil, and we signed the nikah papers, and that's when I walked towards him and he saw me for the first time, and that's what I wanted as.”

Mahira further quipped that after their nikah, she completely forgot about taking pictures with Salim. Meanwhile, her team reminded her of the same and the newly wedded couple posed for the mesmerising shot on the edge of a cliff. After the couple's picture, Mahira took a picture all by herself. Sharing more details of it, Mahira added:

“The sun was going down, it was gone nearly, and Shahbaz said bas yahi rahein I have got it, and it was three clicks.”

Mahira Khan talked about her bridal jodas for her various wedding ceremony

Further in the interaction, Mahira talked about the various bridal jodas she wore for different functions during her wedding. For Dua-e-Khair, the actress wore a Hyderabadi joda from the shelves of Umar Sayeed. Talking about the outfit, Mahira said that she would be passing the joda to her bahu. Moreover, she said that the same night, her friends hosted her mayun. For the event, the actress donned a beautiful mustard-yellow hued joda from the collection of Zara Shah Jahan. Mahira also shared that she had enjoyed every bit of her wedding ceremony. In her words:

“I really enjoyed my wedding, I have to say, and I don't think that girls get to. I mean, I've been there before, when I was young, and you know, I was just so worried, even here. I was handling everything, but I was more at ease.”

The Pakistani actress shared that she wore a purple joda from the shelves of Menahel and Mehreen for her mehendi ceremony. For the brunch, Mahira wore a yellow saree gifted to her by Khadijah Shah. Moreover, she wore Rano’s chatta patti gharara paired with a hand-embellished kurta and dupatta on the Qawwali night. During the conversation, the host also shared that the actress fractured her foot right after the wedding ceremony, which is why her walima was postponed for a week. She wore a beautiful, heavily embellished saree by Bunto Kazmi paired with a red-turquoise blue blouse and heavy jewellery.
