The entire world witnessed the lavish wedding of Mahira Khan. She tied the knot with Salim Karim, who is a businessman and CEO of Simpaisa. The gorgeous Pakistani diva got married for the second time on October 1, 2023. Her fans and well-wishers from all over the world still could not stop gushing over her enthralling pictures from the wedding festivities.

The 38-year-old actress is not only loved by millions in Pakistan but is also equally appreciated in India. She is often praised for her impeccable acting in the Bollywood film, Raees, alongside Shah Rukh Khan. Her stardom made her fans curious about her personal life. Well, for many years she kept quiet regarding her personal life, but has time and again spoken about her beloved son, Azlan.

Mahira Khan revealed how she used to manage being a new mom and her work

Mahira Khan had previously tied the knot with Ali Askari in 2007. They were blessed with their son, Azlan in 2009. However, the couple ended up getting divorced in 2015. Despite parting ways, they have maintained a cordial relationship, partly because they co-parent their son, Azlan. They still have a deep respect for each other.

During the Pakistan Film Festival in New York in 2018, the famous Pakistani actress, Mahira Khan, shared her views on being a working mother in showbiz. She disclosed that she was still breastfeeding her son, Azlan, while working on the sets of Shoaib Mansoor's movie, Bol. The actor highlighted the challenges of balancing work and motherhood but also emphasised the importance of pursuing her passion while fulfilling her responsibilities as a parent. She said:

"Everybody there was surprised (at me working while taking care of Azlan), and even I was at times because this was 9 years ago. The thing is, and I think this is the best quote ever invented as far as babies and moms are concerned, ‘a child gives birth to a mother’. You just have to adapt. Yes, you have a child, but the child has given birth to you, and you know exactly what you're supposed to do. It's harder, it's difficult, not easy."

Mahira Khan said that raising a child needs support, and complimented her family’s relentless support of her

Raising a child can be challenging, but the actor shared that having support can make a significant difference. She attributes her success to the collective effort of Azlan's father, her parents, and herself, who were all in sync regarding their child's upbringing. As she was asked about balancing work and being a mother, Mahira highlighted the disparity in gender-specific questions related to family and children. She suggested that fathers should also be asked the same questions to bridge the gap.

Mahira Khan said that her son, Azlan, loves her ex-husband, Ali Askari’s other son more than his own mother

During an interview with the FWhy podcast, Mahira Khan opened up about her personal life. She discussed her relationship with her ex-husband, Ali Askari, and how her son, Azlan, has formed a bond with Ali's new family. Ali Askari got married to Zara Dadabhoy in 2017, and Mahira expressed that Ali's new wife is a very sweet person. It took some time, but both Mahira and Ali now respect each other's respective partners. Mahira also mentioned that Azlaan sometimes jokes about loving Ali's other son more than his own mother.
