Pakistani actress, Mahira Khan has been leading all the headlines as she recently tied the knot for the second time. For the unversed, Mahira got hitched to her longtime boyfriend, Salim Karim, in a low-key outdoor ceremony. Several videos and images from the duo's wedding made their way to social media and left all in awe. Mahira's personal life often grabbed a lot of attention. And one of the much-talked-about topics was her marriage with Ali Askari.

For the unversed, Mahira earlier, got married to her childhood sweetheart, Ali Askari, in 2007. The duo together has a son, whom they named Azlaan. However, after eight years of marital bliss, Ali and Mahira's paradise hit trouble, and they parted ways and opted for divorce in 2015. However, do you know that it was Mahira's ex-husband, Ali, for whom the diva ended up in the showbiz world? Yes! You read it right. Earlier, in an interview, Mahira opened up about the same.

In a throwback interview with the Pakistani news outlet, Dawn News, Mahira Khan was asked how she ended up landing in the showbiz world. To this, Mahira stated that it was possible because of her then-husband, Ali Askari, who reportedly works at MTV Pakistan. Talking about how she ended up in the showbiz world, Mahira Khan stated that she once went to meet Ali at his workplace, Indus TV, and told him that she would want to help him, and that's how she ended up being a video jockey. Mahira Khan mentioned:

"Ali - who I am married to now - was working there. I was here for summer holidays and I would go to Indus TV to meet him there. And I would tell him that I would help him while he's working and that's how I ended up becoming a VJ. And I never wanted to be a VJ, but I always wanted to be a movie star."

In the same interview, Mahira Khan shared that as soon as she joined the showbiz world, she got married. Heaping praises on her then-hubby, Ali Askari, Mahira stated that she hopped onto the forever journey with someone whom she knew from childhood, and whenever she used to feel insecure about herself, it was Ali who used to tell her that she was wrong. Mahira said:

"As soon as I joined media, I got married but I got married to someone I had been with my whole life - since childhood. Whenever I felt insecure about myself, he was the one who told me that I was wrong."

Mahira Khan's career in the showbiz world

For those who don't know, Mahira Khan started her career in 2006 as a VJ and hosted the live show, Most Wanted on MTV Pakistan. In 2008, Mahira Khan hosted AAG TV's reality show, Weekends with Mahira. And it was in 2011, when Mahira Khan made her acting debut in the movie, Bol alongside Atif Aslam. Later, the actress won fame with her masterclass performance in the daily soap, Humsafar. Mahira made her debut in Bollywood with the movie, Raees in 2017, opposite Shah Rukh Khan, and bagged immense success for the same.

After a lot of speculation, Mahira Khan finally got married to the man of her dreams, Salim Karim. In the pictures and videos that have been going massively viral, we could see the diva looking stunning in an exquisite white lehenga featuring sequin embellishments. With a matching choli and a long veil, Mahira completed her look, and it seemed like her bridal avatar was an ode to the minimalistic style. It's being reported that Mahira opted for the designer, Faraz Manan, for her big day. Talking about the groom, he looked dapper in a black sherwani paired with a blue turban.
