Mahesh Thakur opens up about the laddoo scene goof-up

In a recent interview with Brut India, Mahesh Thakur opened up about the laddoo scene goof-up and shared that it was not planned. Elaborating on the same, he said that the director, Sooraj Barjatiya, instructed an actor to offer the sweets and everybody had to pick a laddoo from it. However, Mahesh was seated in a position where the box was out of his reach, so he missed it. In his words:

"No, it was not planned. Basically, Sooraj ji had given an instruction to the actor to go offer. Everybody takes laddoo from the box of sweets, and he was basically supposed to offer everybody. But the actor was positioned not in arm's reach, or even if he was, he was focusing on his dialogues. So by the time the box comes to me, I missed it."

Mahesh Thakur reveals how he improvised the laddoo scene goof-up

Speaking on the same lines, Mahesh shared that as he tried to grab a laddoo once again, he missed the chance. So, as an actor, he improvised the scene and managed to play along. He further reacted to the immense love the scene is getting from the audience, years after its release, and shared that he finds it really cute. Mahesh added:

"And then he comes close to me, again I go for it and again, I missed it. So because we never shot with a digital camera where you can do a retake. It's a film camera and film camera exposure is expensive. So as an actor, I have to manage. You cannot look dead in the scene just because you didn't get a laddoo. I managed it with expressions and, you know, I played along. What are you supposed to do if you don't get a laddoo? I think it's very cute, I love the fans for posting memes and making fun and, you know, having a good laugh about it."
