Mahavatar Narsimha's OTT Release Revealed, When To Watch The Highest-Grossing Mythological Drama

One of the most-awaited Indian mythological dramas, Mahavatar Narsimha, is all set for its OTT release. Directed by Ashwin Kumar, Mahavatar Narsimha is India’s first large-scale 3D animated mythological epic. Soon after its theatrical release, it became the highest-grossing film rooted in spiritual reverence.

When and where to watch Mahavatar Narsimha?

Following its stupendous success, Mahavatar Narsimha is all set to stream on OTT platforms. There were many speculations about its OTT release, but the makers have now officially announced it. The movie will be available to stream on OTT giant, Netflix, on September 19, 2025. The streaming platform announced the big news by sharing a poster of the film. The announcement can be read as:

“The roar of this lion can topple a kingdom. Watch 'Mahavatar Narsimha', out 19 September, 12:30 PM, on Netflix.”

After the box office success of Pan-India releases like KGF and Kantara, Hombale Films has returned with the Indian mythological film, Mahavatar Narsimha. Mahavatar Narasimha has been adapted from not one, but three Puranas: the Vishnu Purana, Narasimha Purana, and Shrimad Bhagavata Purana. The film begins with the birth of Hiranyakashipu, whose rule is marked by terror, ego, and vengeance.

However, his own son, Prahlad, is an ardent follower of Lord Vishnu. However, when atrocities are carried out on Prahalad for his devotion towards Lord Vishnu, Lord Narasimha arrives with his terrifying half-man, half-lion avatar to save Prahlad from his father, Hiranyakashipu. Soon after its theatre release, Mahavatar Narsimha became one of the highest-earning films of the year.

Will there be a sequel to Mahavatar Narsimha?

The producers of Hombale Films and Kleem Productions have officially announced the Mahavatar Cinematic Universe (MCU). It will be a decade-long animated franchise that will focus on the stories of ten divine avatars of Lord Vishnu. The MCU began with Mahavatar Narsimha in 2025 and is expected to conclude with Mahavatar Kalki Part 2 in 2037.

After Mahavatar Narsimha in 2025, the next film will be Mahavatar Parshuram in 2027. It will be followed by Mahavatar Raghunandan in 2029, Mahavatar Dwarkadhish in 2031, Mahavatar Gokulananda in 2033, and Mahavatar Kalki in two parts in 2035 and 2037. Every film will feature a new avatar, and people are thrilled to witness the decade-long sequels.

Mahavatar Narsimha features the strong voice-over by Aditya Raj Sharma, Haripriya Matta, and Sanket Jaiswal in the Hindi version. According to Sacnilk, the film earned Rs. 249 crore in India and scored Rs. 324.5 crore at the global box office. Talking about the sequels, Ashwin Kumar told the Hindustan Times:

“This is also not just a film, it's the echo of our ancestors and our land and our history. So that the virtues really get, you know, embedded forward into the generations.”
