Madhuri Dixit, the 'Dhak Dhak' girl of Bollywood, is a phenomenal actress. She has won hearts with her acting prowess and spontaneous dance moves. Over the years, Madhuri gave many hits to the industry, including Devdas, Dil Toh Pagal Hai, Raja, Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!, Khalnayak, Thanedaar and more. Currently, she is on a promotional spree for her upcoming thriller series, Mrs. Deshpande. However, her family, including her husband and sons, had no clue about her stardom. In a recent interview, Madhuri recalled her sons’ reaction after their first encounter with paparazzi.
In a recent podcast with Ranveer Allahbadia, Madhuri Dixit shared that her sons had zero knowledge about her stardom as they grew up outside India. It was only after they came to India, Madhuri’s sons got to know about her popularity as an actress. Recalling their first reaction, Madhuri said that one day she and her family went to a movie theatre. She mentioned that after her son came to know that she is a star, they also started watching her films. Their friends also excitedly told them lucky to be her son. She was quoted as saying:
"They knew nothing until we got back to India. One day, we went to watch a movie together, and when we came out of the theatre, there were photographers on a clicking spree. They were so confused, asking me, ‘Mom, what is this? They were always into cartoons or superhero films and didn’t understand Hindi. Only now they have started speaking Hindi and Marathi."

In a recent interview with ANI, Madhuri Dixit revealed that her husband, Dr. Shriram Nene, didn’t know anyone from the industry except Amitabh Bachchan. She shared that Dr. Nene was born in London and moved to the US at the age of 7. He used to come to India only during vacations. He didn’t know Hindi. However, he knew Marathi because his grandparents didn’t know English, and thus he had to speak Marathi with them. But now he knows both Hindi and Marathi. He only watched the film, Amar Akbar Anthony, starring Amitabh Bachchan. She was quoted as saying:
"He was born in London and moved to the US when he was 7. He used to come here (India) for vacations when he was little. He didn't watch films, and he didn't know Hindi. He knew Marathi because his grandparents didn't know English, and he had to talk to them in Marathi. He is good with Marathi but didn't understand Hindi at that point; now he does. He didn't watch many films. He said that the only film he had watched was Amar Akbar Anthony, so he only knew Amitabh Bachchan."

In the same interview, Madhuri recalled her first meeting with her husband, Dr. Shriram Nene. She shared that Dr. Nene had no clue about her profession and stardom. She mentioned that it was refreshing for her to vibe with someone who didn’t know her as a star. She was quoted as saying:
"When I met him, he asked me what I do, and I told him I work in films, and he thought it was nice. He didn't realise the impact or who I was. I found that attractive because I could meet him without having any preconceived notions about me, or how I should be. People who see my movies have thoughts in their mind about how I would be. It was refreshing to vibe with someone on a very personal level; there was no filter of being a star."
