When two people plan to start a life together, their relationship is no longer their own, as then comes the part where the family and friends get involved and all the traumas start to bug in. Not every relationship has a smooth course of time. There are ups and downs, but there is a rollercoaster ride when the families are involved. Everyone in a family comes with a set of expectations from a certain person, and those expectations make it hard for the people who love to attain their forever. While some fall for the trap and end everything for their family’s sake, there are a few, who decide to fight and hold on to their love despite all odds. Sanjay Dutt and Maanayata Dutt’s love story is quite similar, as their age gap and family’s resistance could not stop them from starting their life together. Sometimes the age gap in a relationship works for better, as we can see how great a relationship, Sanjay Dutt and Maanayata Dutt share even though the couple has an age gap of 19 years. Sanjay and Maanayata's relationship wasn’t a cakewalk just like his life as they both had hit many lows and highs and yet had decided to hold on to each other. The couple that met in 2006 and had gotten married in 2008, had faced a lot of objections from the Dutt sisters, Priya and Namrata. However the things are all perfect between them now, but in an old interview, Maanayata Dutt had talked about rejection from Sanjay Dutt’s sister and the question of taking over Sanjay’s life.
In a 2009 interview with the IANS, Maanayata Dutt had opened up on the question of taking over Sanjay’s life and had said, “I know, but what I want to say is that I have the right to live with my husband the way I want to. It doesn't matter whether it's a prostitute or a princess, a wife has certain rights in her husband's home. I'm not a man living in a woman's house." Further, she had talked about her equation with Dutt sisters and had said, “Sanju knows I've tried to do as much in my capacity to find acceptance with his sisters. Beyond that, he wouldn't like me to push myself to try any further. Neither would I."
She had also revealed how Sanjay Dutt had lost all the money he had earned. She had said, “There were too many people around him trying to use him. I came like a barricade in Sanju's life to stand between him and those who want to use him. Naturally, these fair-weather friends resent me. I spoilt their party, you see". In another interview with the IANS, Maanyata had talked about the impact of Sanjay Dutt in her life and how she’s living the best time of her life. She had revealed, “I've never been happier. Sanju has stood by me through thick and thin. I've known him for nine years. We started seeing each other seriously in 2005. But he knew my past. So when 'friends' tried to provoke him he just laughed it off. He knew everything about me. When I was going through hell before my marriage, I'd pick up the phone and ask him for help. We're both very positive people and we like to live and let live. We both believe in forgiving. And we believe every saint can have a past. And every sinner can have a future.” (Don't Miss: Priyanka Chopra Revealed Nick Jonas' Reaction When She Switches Her American Accent To Indian)
