The release date of the much-anticipated Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra has finally been announced. The streaming platform JioCinema Hotstar has revealed the release date of the Malayalam film, which hit the cinema and broke a massive Rs. 300 crore record. You can watch the Kalyani Priyadarshan starrer on October 31, 2025. The film is directed by Dominic Arun and produced by Dulquer Salmaan's Wayfarer Films

What is Lokah Chapter 1 all about?

Lokah, released on August 28, 2025, is directed by Dominic Arun and is based on Kerala’s folklore. The story revolves around a woman named ‘Chandra,’ who is a bit mysterious and works in a cafe. ‘Sunny’ and his two friends, who live in the nearby apartment, are curious to know about her. But ‘Sunny’ finds out that the 'Chandra' is ‘Yakshi’, who has some supernatural power as well as vampire elements.

The original story is actually about a woman named ‘Ali’ who is killed by her husband and now becomes a vengeful spirit, who lures and kills men in the forest. Naslen plays ‘Sunny’ in the film, which also features star cameos by Dulquer Salmaan and Tovino Thomas. Dulquer has also backed the film, which is the first in the five-part franchise.
