Producer, Dulquer Salmaan Announces 'Lokah Chapter 2', Starring Tovino Thomas In A Double Role

Malayalam cinema has been grabbing a lot of attention with some of its blockbusters films. The recently released superhero film, Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, starring Kalyani Priyadarshan, Sandy Master and more, broke records and became the highest grossing Malayalam film of all time. Since its release the fans have been wondering about Lokah Chapter 2, and the wait is finally over. 

Dulquer Salmaan announces Lokah Chapter 2

On September 27, 2025, actor-turned-producer, Dulquer Salmaan took to his X (formerly Twitter) handle to share the good news with all the fans of the film, Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra. In the post, he revealed that Lokah Chapter 2 will star Tovino Thomas. Along with that, he also attached the link of a YouTube video, in which ‘Michael’ and ‘Charlie’ are seen talking to each other. During their conversation, ‘Michael’ talks about a book, They live among us and confirms that the first chapter was about ‘Kaaliyankattu Neeli’, but the second chapter will be about the boys. Dulquer Salmaan’s post can be read as:

"Beyond myths. Beyond legends. A new chapter begins. #LokahChapter2. Starring Tovino Thomas. Written & Directed by Dominic Arun. Produced by Wayfarer Films."

More about Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra

Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra is a Malayalam fantasy-superhero film that beautifully blends Kerala folklore with modern action. The film follows 'Chandra', a powerful woman, who comes to the city with a mission. The film shows a big showdown with corrupt powers. The blockbuster film stars Kalyani Priyadarshan, Naslen, Sandy Master, Arun Kurian and more. Reportedly, the film was made on a budget of Rs. 25-35 crore and it managed to earn around Rs. 280 crores worldwide. 

In Lokah Chapter 2, the focus will shift from 'Chandra' to Tovino Thomas' character. By the teaser, which was released on September 27, 2025, it can be said that Tovino, who plays the role of 'Michael' will be seen in a double role, as both hero and the villain. With this, fans are expecting it to be a bigger hit than the first film.

As soon as the announcement teaser of Lokah Chapter 2 went live on Dulquer Salmaan’s YouTube channel, a lot of fans flooded the comment section with love and excitement towards the film. One fan commented, "Tovino Thomas who was born to be a super hero." Another fan wrote, "May loka chapter 2 be better than chapter 1..all the best to the teams." A third user penned, "Happy to see Marvel like universe from Kerala industry." Another user commented, "Michael X Charlie combo is going to be insane in Lokah chapter 2."
