Lalu's Daughter, Rohini Acharya Disowns Her Family After Once Giving Her Dad A Kidney To Save Him?

Rohini Acharya left everyone stunned when she announced on November 15, 2025, that she was disowning her family. The politician took to her social media account and made the explosive announcement. However, now the country is intrigued as to what happened that the daughter who once donated a kidney to her father, Lalu Prasad Yadav, has now decided to cut all ties with her family.

The former Bihar Chief Minister, Lalu Prasad Yadav's daughter, Rohini Acharya, once donated a kidney to her father. It was in 2022 when the politician was going through a health crisis and needed a kidney. Out of all his children, it was Rohini who willingly donated her kidney and saved her father's life. However, even back then, this gesture was met with harsh claims.

According to reports, after Rohini donated her kidney, many detractors claimed that she had not actually donated her kidney to her father, Lalu Prasad Yadav, out of the goodness of her heart but for her own personal gain. But the politician's daughter met the claims head-on and boldly declared in a Facebook post that if anyone could prove that she ever demanded anything for herself or others in exchange for donating her kidney to her revered father, she would voluntarily withdraw from political and public life.

Rohini Acharya disowns her family?

The internet fell apart on November 15, 2025, after Rohini Acharya took to her X (formerly Twitter) handle and announced that she was quitting politics. However, that was not all, she also claimed that she was disowning her family. The politician also shared that it was because of Sanjay Yadav and Rameez that she had to take such a step. Taking to her X account, Rohini posted:

"I'm quitting politics and I'm disowning my family … This is what Sanjay Yadav and Rameez had asked me to do …and I'm taking all the blame."

Rohini Acharya's political journey and why she is quitting politics?

Rohini Acharya made her political debut in 2024, contesting the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from the Saran constituency in Bihar. The politician claimed she had decided to quit politics and cut ties with her family because of Sanjay Yadav and Rameez. For the unversed, Sanjay Yadav, who is also a Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) member, is known to be a senior political advisor to the party's leader, Tejashwi Yadav, who secured a hat-trick from the Raghopur seat in the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025.

Who is Rohini Acharya?

Rohini Acharya is the daughter of politician, Lalu Prasad Yadav. She had an MBBS degree. While her spouse, Samresh Singh, is a software engineer, the latter is the son of a retired income tax officer, Rai Ranvijay Singh, a friend of Lalu Prasad Yadav. The couple, who married in 2022, are parents to two sons and have lived in Singapore and the United States over the past two decades.
