IPL founder and former chairman of the same, Lalit Modi, has been lucky in love again. It was on Valentine's Day when she shared a lovable video with his new ladylove, who confirmed his breakup with Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen. Lalit and Sushmita had been to the Maldives together where he, in his post, had addressed her as his 'better half'. The businessman has always been secretive about his personal life, but little did you know that he was earlier married to Minal Sagrani, who was 10 years older than him.

Who was Lalit Modi's late wife, Minal Sagrani?

Before Lalit came into a relationship with Sushmita, he was married to Minal. The duo got married in 1991, and their relationship lasted till 2018. It was at the age of 64 that Minal's demise happened after she battled cancer. Talking of Minal, she was Pesu Aswani's daughter who was a businessman of Nigeria-Sindhi origin. It is interesting to note that Minal was earlier married to Jack Sagrani who was another Nigerian based businessman and was a Sindhi.

Did you know that Minal's first husband, Jack, was also in jail for seven months? A report by the NDTV claimed of his alleged involvement in a scam. It was during that time she was conceived with Karima, reportedly.

The love affair between Lalit and Minal started when she separated from Jack. Minal's parents were unhappy that she was having a courtship with Lalit as she was a divorced mom and was reportedly nine years older than the businessman. Their families did not give a nod to their marriage, and despite it being opposed, Lalit and Minal got married in 1991. They were then blessed with two kids- Ruchir and Aliya Modi. Lalit also has a step-daughter from Minal's first marriage to Jack, Karima Sangrani.

Lalit's first 'jaan' was Minal. It was in 2018 when he lost her to cancer and the business tycoon back then had created a huge stir in Delhi's social circle. Firstly, when he got married to Minal, and secondly, after her death, he used to share old pictures from happy memories with his wife. He missed her until he found love in Sushmita. A viral picture of the business tycoon with Sushmita and Minal had once even gone viral. It caught the attention of their fans as the trio was seen in a discussion. Lalit and Sushmita had taken to X to announce that they were in a relationship. It was here that Lalit had once shared an old picture with the actress and his late wife, Minal. Lalit's post read:

"Just back in london after a whirling global tour #maldives # sardinia with the families - not to mention my #better looking partner @sushmitasen47 - a new beginning a new life finally. Over the moon.. In love does not mean marriage yet. But one that by gods grace will happen. I just announced that we are together."
