'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2's Smriti Irani Shares Never Wishing Amar On Instagram, 'Aaj Tak..'

Ektaa Kapoor's cult classic hit show, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, came back with the reboot version on July 29, 2025. The star cast has been the same, mostly with Smriti Irani playing the role of 'Tulsi Virani', and Amar Upadhyay playing the role of 'Mihir Virani'. Now, Amar turned a year older on August 1, 2025, and Smriti took to her Instagram feed to post the sweetest birthday video for her on-screen husband, Amar a.k.a 'Mihir'. Smriti and Amar have sent fans on a nostalgic meltdown as the show returned with a bang on season 2.

Smriti Irani reveals she never wished her on-screen husband, Amar Upadhyay, on Instagram

Smriti's chemistry with Amar has been heartwarming ever since the inception of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. Now, a while back, a video went viral on social media where Smriti revealed that she never took to her Instagram to ever wish 'Mihir' a.k.a Amar on his birthday. She made a selfie video that looked like from the sets of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2, wearing a signature green saree with a bindi and her electric smile. Amar entered the frame in the end, and Smriti had the most adorable wish on Amar's janamdin and confessing that she never wished him in this manner on Instagram. In the video, she said:

"Maine aaj tak apne Instagram mei aisa video nai daala. Aaj dalri hu kyuki aaj kisi ka janamdin hai. Mei chahti hu aap sab apni aur se aashirwadh deh aur birthday wish kare. Oh happy birthday."

When Amar entered the video in the end wearing a white formal blazer with a black coat, he thanked Smriti, his on-screen wife and all his fans for the most heartwarming wish. Smriti also wished Amar in Gujarati, and the video was all things cute. Apart from Smriti and Amar, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 also has Hiten Tejwani, Gauri Pradhan. Fans have also been introduced to the new cast that includes Rohit Suchanti, Aman Gandhi and Shagun Sharma.

When Amar Upadhyay opened up on returning to Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2

Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 has come back on the screens after a break of 25 years. As fans have been showering the reboot season with a lot of love, Amar earlier in an interview with ETimes TV shared how he felt returning back on the sets of the show. He revealed feeling great coming back to the show and did not expect to get so much love. Amar noted:

"I never expected the audience to be so delighted to see us on screen again, especially in today’s world, or to still be waiting for us. We didn’t expect such a positive reception when we first started filming because so much has changed, television has evolved, and new generations have entered the picture."

Amar also shared that no one expected Kyunki to return, and when the announcement was made, they were concerned about how it would come back, given that the show has always been iconic. The actor did share that as the reboot season has come back, he has been thrilled to see the excitement. The fact that even the younger generation is eager to watch the show in itself is a good indication.
