New 'Mandira' For 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2'? This Actress Will Be 'Tulsi's Sautan'

For Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi season 2, the iconic duo of 'Mihir' and 'Tulsi' will be seen on screens again. Both Amar Upadhyay and Smriti Irani, who played these roles respectively, are coming back to reprise their characters in the show. However, as per reports, the character of 'Mandira' who wreaked havoc in 'Tulsi's marital life and was her sautan will be seen again as well. In the first season, initially Mandira Bedi had played the character, then Achint Kaur was cast as 'Mandira'. For the second season of the show, another actress will be the face of 'Tulsi's sautan. 

Who will be the new 'Mandira' for Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi season 2? 

'Tulsi Virani' was the soul of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, but all the twists and turns brought by 'Mandira' definitely added spice to the storyline, which made it one of the most popular Indian TV series ever. Hence, if 'Tulsi' and 'Mihir' are coming back on screen, then 'Mandira' also has to make a comeback to add the drama. As per Filmibeat, the makers have in fact decided to bring back one of the most iconic vamp characters for season two of the show. And the role of 'Mandira' will be played by none other than Barkha Bisht, revealed the report. 

A source close to the portal said that Barkha has joined the cast, but her character is kept under wraps for now. She will be playing the role of 'Mihir Virani's lover and will bring a lot of twists to the storyline. However, in the first season, 'Mandira's character was shown as evil through and through. However, in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi season 2, the character will be grey, meaning she will start out as evil but undergo a change of heart later. The source revealed:

"Details about Barkha Bisht's character have been kept under wraps; however, she will play a major role in the storyline. She will play Mihir's lover, bringing a potential change in the plot. Is she the villain of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi season 2? Yes, she will later have a change of character, showing grey shades."

Producer, Ektaa Kapoor revealed that her magnum opus, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, went off air before it could hit the 2000 episodes milestone. They needed just 150 more episodes for that. Hence, she aims to break this record with season 2 of the show, which will consist of 150 episodes, as reported by Hindustan Times. Smriti Irani and Amar Upadhay will reprise their roles as the iconic on-screen couple, 'Mihir and Tulsi Virani'. The first scene was shot on July 3, 2025, the date when the first season was aired in 2000. Recently, a promotional feature showcasing the first look of Smriti Irani as 'Tulsi' was launched, filling people with nostalgia and anticipation for the upcoming season.
