'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2' Going Off Air, Hiten Tejwani Breaks Silence, 'It Was Supposed..'

Ekta Kapoor's iconic reality show, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, was the longest-running show of all time. After many years, the producer decided to relaunch the show with the second season and brought back Smriti Irani as 'Tulsi'. The show went viral on day one, but according to the latest reports, the show is going to end way sooner than expected. 

Hiten Tejwani breaks his silence on Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 going off air

It won't be wrong to say that the show has its own following who love the dramatic twists and emotional turns of 'Tulsi and Mihir's' show. While the second installment has successfully taken forward the legacy among their loyal fans. Recently, rumours have been rife that the show might soon go off air.

Amid the rumours, Hiten Tejwani, who is also an important character on the show, spoke about whether the show is going off air. Hiten revealed that he has no information about the show ending. He added that he doesn't shoot regularly, but he would get updated when he has his call for the project. Also, Hiten mentioned that they all knew that it was a limited series. He said:

"I have no idea about what’s happening because I’m not shooting regularly. If I were on set more often, I might have more updates. When we got the call for the project, it was mentioned that this wouldn’t be an infinite series like before. It was supposed to have a limited run."

However, a source close to the production team has dismissed the show going off-air reports. It revealed that the makers have no plans of ending the show anytime soon. In fact, the buzz in the industry suggests that Star Plus is considering an extension of the show. 

It is worth mentioning that recently, Global philanthropist, Bill Gates made his Indian television debut on Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2. It was a milestone for Indian television as Microsoft co-founder agreed to make a special cameo for an Indian show that deals with family dynamics. Earlier, Bill Gates made his TV debut with an American show, The Big Bang Theory.

Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 made a return on small screens on July 29, 2025, at the usual time slot of 10:30 pm on Star Plus. The show has been produced by Balaji Motion Pictures and featured the OG starcast, Smriti Irani, Amar Upadhyay, Hiten Tejwani, Gauri Pradhan, Shakti Anand, and Ketki Dave. Some new faces also made their presence felt as the new generation, including Aman Gandhi, Shagun Sharma and Rohit Suchanti. The first season had around 1,833 episodes, which made it the longest-running show of that time. However, Ekta confirmed that it would be a limited number of episodes.
