After completing her schooling, she pursued her graduation in English literature from Delhi University's esteemed Indraprastha College for Women. Following that, Kusha enrolled in the prestigious National Institute of Fashion Technology in order to pursue a Bachelor of Design.
After completing her education, Kusha Kapila wanted to become a journalist, and with her inclination towards fashion, she started her career as a fashion correspondent. It was in 2013 when she worked as a fashion journalist for Delhi-based apparel online. Post her academic pursuits, Kusha gained professional experience as a trend analyst and content writer for Fashion Forward Trends.
It was in 2016 when Kusha Kapila got a job at Times Internet, where she served as a Fashion Editor. Later in her professional career, Kusha joined idiva as a writer and also created engaging video content for their Facebook page. Through these roles, Kapila showcased her expertise and creativity in the fashion industry, building a strong foundation for her subsequent endeavours.
During her time at idiva, Kusha Kapila's creation of the comic character 'Billi Massi' garnered immense popularity and made her a social media sensation. After this, she started her own Instagram page, where she began creating and sharing her original content, showcasing her talent and humour to a wider audience. Kusha Kapila's acting career took off in 2020 when she appeared in the Netflix anthology film, Ghost Stories. Soon she was featured in another Netflix project, India's YouTube series, Behensplaining, for which she received positive responses. After grabbing two Netflix shows, Kusha showcased her comedic skills in Amazon Prime's reality comedy show, LOL: Hasse Toh Phasse, in the same year.
In 2020, Kusha Kapila also joined the cast of Amazon MiniTV's reality sketch comedy show, Case Toh Banta Hai and played a lead role in Season 2 of the Netflix series, Masaba Masaba. The year 2020 was indeed the best year of Kusha’s professional career, as she also co-hosted the third season of Comicstaan and even made guest appearances in shows like Plan A Plan B and Koffee with Karan.
Kusha Kapila got married to Zorawar Singh Ahluwalia, who worked at Diageo in 2017. For the unversed, Kusha and Zorawar first crossed paths at a mutual friend's wedding in 2012. The ex-couple clicked after a few meetings and soon began dating. However, after being together for around 4-5 years, they tied the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony.
In a heartfelt statement on her social media handle, Kusha Kapila shared that she and Zorawar Singh Ahluwalia have decided to part ways as they had different aspirations for their lives. The famous content creator also admitted that all the moments that they have lived together were significant.
But despite making sincere efforts to resolve their differences, they couldn’t mend their ways. As a result, they have reached a point where they can no longer continue to be with each other. She assured her fans that she and Zorawar will continue to co-parent their beloved pet, Maya. An excerpt from her statement could be read as:
"Zorawar and I have mutually decided to part ways. This hasn’t been an easy decision by any measure but we know it’s the right one at this point in our lives. The love and life we have shared together continues to mean everything for us but sadly, what we seek currently for ourselves doesn’t align. We gave it our all, until we couldn’t anymore."

Kusha Kapila faced a lot of backlash after she announced her separation from Zorawar Singh Ahluwalia. When things got out of control, it was on June 28, 2033, when Zorawar took to his IG stories and address the unnecessary backlash Kusha was facing following their announcement of separation. In a heartfelt note, Zorawar emphasized that the decision to part ways was mutual and admitted that both of them hold immense respect for each other. He also urged netizens to refrain from attacking her and requested them not to question her character His note could be read as:
"What has transpired over the last 24 hours, with Kusha being subject to vile attacks online makes me sad and disappointed. To attack Kusha’s character and paint her as some villain is shameful. Let’s all please do better."
It was on May 22, 2023, when Kusha Kapila left her massive fan following on Instagram absolutely stunned after she shared a video in which she could be seen flaunting her look for her debut at the Cannes Film Festival 2023. Kusha looked stunning in an orange flowy gown.
