Kunwarr Amar and Charlie Chauhan’s love life has seen many ups and downs. In October 2015, following some differences, Charlie and Amar had mutually decided to end their relationship on good terms. The couple had shared that the breakup was not because of anyone’s fault but it was their busy schedules that had created issues in their lives. Their breakup had broken their fans' hearts to the bits, but the lovely couple had given their relationship ‘ek aur chance’ and had gotten back together in June 2016. However, the sad news is that Charlie and Amar could not stand the test of time and finally, the two have parted their ways forever.
In an interview with Zoom Digital, Kunwarr Amar talked about his breakup with Charlie Chauhan and revealed that she faced a lot of backlash due to their breakup. Amar shared that people loved his character so much that it resulted in backlash for Charlie. He said, “She has faced hatred from people. They started loving my character (in Dil Dostii Dance), so they thought people should be in love in real life as well. That resulted in a lot of hatred for Charlie, and then, of course, things did not work out well."
Kunwarr Amar also shared that he is always secretive about his relationships and his relationship with Charlie was the only one that came out in public. Their public relationship status also added difficulties in their love life as people would want an answer to everything. He shared, "People want to talk, question, and make a statement on it. The worst thing is you cannot do anything about it. That's the reason I have always been very secretive about my personal relationships. That (his affair with Charlie) was the only relation that came out, as it went on for a long time and I was very serious about it. We faced a lot of difficulties due to that. That also became the talk of the town and they (people) wanted an answer. Everybody needs an answer for everything and that is annoying, as it is your personal life. You do not want to make it public for all and let people talk. You do not want to answer people as it is your life."

Charlie and Amar had a chance meeting at their common friend's party. They were introduced to each other by their friend and choreographer, Dharmesh. Although Amar had found her quite attractive, it was Charlie, who had fallen in love with him in just one meeting. In a conversation with ETimes, Charlier had talked about falling in love with Amar at first sight. She had said, “I met him through Dharmesh (of Dance India Dance fame). Every time I had seen Amar as Rey on screen, I used to think he would have a lot of attitude. But when I met him, he came across as a sweetheart. I fell in love at first sight. I had never met a smart, nice yet such a down-to-earth guy like him before. He is really mature, and I feel very secure with him. He was not too sure in the beginning about our relationship, because we've had our share of heartbreaks, but we became friends and then realized we loved each other."
