Kunickaa's Ex-BF, Kumar Sanu, Breaks Silence On Extramarital Allegations With Meenakshi Sheshadri

Veteran Indian singer Kumar Sanu is known for his soothing melodies and his contributions to the Indian music industry. He has sung over 21,000 songs in various Indian languages and other languages. The talented musician also holds a World Record to his name, having recorded 28 songs in a single day in 1993. Besides his musical prowess, the Kolkata-born star has also been in the limelight for his controversial love life. His rumoured and confirmed affairs are still making noise after all these years.

It is primarily due to Bigg Boss 19 contestant, Kunickaa Sadanand, opening up about her live-in relationship with married singer Kumar Sanu on the show. Amid the renewed buzz over the closed chapter of Kumar Sanu and Kunickaa, interest has been raised regarding his other rumoured romances. The most popular one among them was his link-up with the Damini fame, Meenakshi Sheshadri. After years of speculations, Sanu broke the silence on the rumours during a conversation with Siddharth R Kannan.

Kumar Sanu's extramarital allegations with Meenakshi Sheshadri

Kumar Sanu was a man rumoured to be involved with multiple women of the film industry. His personal life has been as talked-about as his music career. During his married life with his first wife, Rita Bhattacharya, Sanu was accused of cheating on her with popular actress of the 80s, Meenakshi Sheshadri. The duo allegedly met at the premiere of Jurm and began dating thereafter. The specualtions of the extramarital affair have circulated in Bollywood for years. The allegations further suggested that the illicit relationship contributed to the end of Sanu's first marriage.

Kumar Sanu reacted to his dating buzz with Meenakshi Sheshadri

After keeping mum on the dating specualtions with Meenakshi Sheshadri, Kumar Sanu finally decided to break his silence on the matter in late 2023. As host Siddharth R Kannan asked Sanu to comment on the issue, the latter answered with honesty. During that time, the singer publicly denied the long-standing affair rumours, ending all possible theories of being a 'womaniser'. He stated that he had personal reasons for ending his marriage to Rita Bhattacharya, which had nothing to do with Meenakshi.

He further stated that he had never even met Meenakshi and was bewildered to hear the rumours circulating. He also felt that Meenakshi would have laughed to know that her name was linked with someone she wasn't even personally acquainted with. According to Sanu, it was the media which escalated the matter and tried to present mere rumours as facts. For the unversed, specualtions of Sanu's extramarital affair intensified when his own secretary reportedly confirmed the development to media persons.

Kumar Sanu tried to clear his name of the allegations of being with multiple women at the same time by citing the example of his second and current wife, Saloni Bhattacharya. He stated that if he were indeed a womaniser, then news of his link-ups with other women would have surfaced during his over two decades of marriage to Saloni. Stressing on that aspect, Kumar Sanu said:

"Maine life mein bohot baar suna ke main womaniser hu aur yeh sab baatein. Aap samajh lo, it's been 23 years since I married Saloni, my second wife. But have you heard about any woman in the last 23 years? But these were just speculations."
