Over the decades, Indian cinema has been fortunate to witness some incredibly talented actors and actresses. While some actors managed to engrave their names in the hearts of the audience forever, some enjoyed stardom for a particular time. However, there was one actor, who had made a super-hit debut in the Hindi film industry, but with time, he couldn't cope with the ever-demanding competition in cinema. Yes! We are talking about one of the most handsome and charismatic actors of the '80s, Kumar Gaurav, the son of legendary actor, Rajendra Kumar.
Although the graph of his professional success in the Hindi film industry had not matched the milestone he had set up for himself, Kumar Gaurav will always be remembered for the ground-breaking debut he had in the showbiz business. Also, besides his professional life, Kumar Gaurav's personal life was nothing less than a film. From being engaged to Raj Kapoor's daughter, Rima Kapoor, to finally getting married to Sunil Dutt's daughter, Namrata Dutt, Kumar Gaurav's life was always full of shocks and surprises.

Rajendra Kumar got married to Shukla Kumar, and together they welcomed three kids, Dimple Patel (married to Hollywood producer, late Raju Patel), Kaajal Tuli and Manoj Tuli (commonly known by his stage name, Kumar Gaurav). Out of all the three kids, Kumar Gaurav had decided to follow in his father's footsteps. It was in 1981 when Gaurav made his acting debut in Hindi cinema with the film, Love Story, in which he starred opposite Vijayta Pandit.
The debut film was a blockbuster, but with time, Kumar Gaurav couldn't manage to keep up the level of his performance, and soon, he started getting out of the limelight. Some of his best-known films are the likes of Teri Kasam, Star, Janam, Naam, Kaante, and Phool. After trying his luck in the film industry for some time, Kumar Gaurav finally bid farewell to Hindi cinema and started his own construction business.

In the picture, Gaurav and Rima looked stunning in their respective outfits. While Rima could be seen donning a pink-hued saree with a neckpiece, Kumar Gaurav could be spotted donning a white-self-printed three-piece suit.
Also, the then-lovebirds could be seen side hugging each other and also looked quite cute in the picture. However, unfortunately, Kumar and Rima's engagement was called off after the reports of the actor having an affair with his Love Story co-star, Vijayta Pandit, started making a lot of noise in the film industry back then.
Talking about Kumar Gaurav and Vijayta Pandit's relationship reports, there were rumours that the two were dating each other and were also quite serious. Soon after Gaurav's engagement with Rima Kapoor was called off, everyone had started assuming and predicting that his and Vijayta's marriage was on the cards. However, if the reports are to be believed, when Gaurav had informed his father, Rajendra Kumar, about his relationship with Vijayta, the iconic actor had clearly refused his son's will to marry Vijayta. Rajendra Kumar had clearly told his son, Gaurav, that she would never be their family's daughter-in-law. This is how Kumar Gaurav and Vijayta Pandit's fairytale romance had reportedly ended!

After his broken engagement with Rima Kapoor and an incomplete love story with Vijayta Pandit, Kumar Gaurav was lucky enough to find his soulmate in the end. The actor had found his life partner in Namrata Dutt, who is the daughter of legendary actors, Sunil Dutt and Nargis. From his acting days, Kumar Gaurav used to have a great friendship with Namrata's brother, Sanjay Dutt, which indeed was a big positive in their love story with his sister. Once in an interview with DNA, Kumar Gaurav's wife, Sanjay Dutt's sister, Namrata Dutt had shared:
"I am an extremely reserved person and find it very difficult to make friends. But with Bunty, I connected instantly. We are so similar."
The adorable couple, Kumar Gaurav and Namrata Dutt are blessed with two daughters, Saachi (married to legendary director, Kamal Amrohi's grandson, Bilal Amrohi) and Siya. Once in a throwback interview, when Kumar Gaurav was asked if his daughter had ever wanted to pursue acting, the doting father had shared:
"No. The kids are not interested in films. Saachi is studying literature, and Siyaa is into fashion designing."
