Kriti Sanon is truly enjoying the best phase of her career. After winning the prestigious National Awards for her performance in the film, Mimi, the diva is set to raise up the bar with her upcoming rom-com opposite Shahid Kapoor, titled Tere Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. For the unversed, the year 2023 has been an exceptional year for the diva, as she has not only bagged some of the most number of accolades, but also ventured into her own skincare brand, Hyphen as well as her production house, Blue Butterfly Films. And now, her latest song from her upcoming film has created quite a stir on the internet.
Taking to all her social media handles, Kriti Sanon shared the much-awaited video of her song, Laal Peeli Akhiyan, along with Shahid Kapoor from their upcoming film, Tere Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. The song showcases the latter making a comeback to the dance floor with some of the swiftest moves, and oh boy, within no time the song and Shahid’s steps made the audience hooked to the foot tapping melody. However, it is Kriti Sanon’s gorgeous desi avatar clad in a turquoise blue saree and a matching-hued sparkly blouse that has raised the temperatures. She looked exquisite by completing her look with softly curled open tresses and nude-base makeup.

Interestingly, while a section of netizens is overjoyed with Kriti’s latest andaaz in the new song, a few others have pointed out a rather curious matter evident from the look and theme of the song. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), several internet users began to highlight how Kriti’s look from the song is a seemingly copied and inspired version of Deepika Padukone’s look from the song, Badtameez Dil from the film, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. Not just Kriti’s look, even Shahid’s all-black look seems to inspired by Ranbir Kapoor’s look in Badtameez Dil. Moreover, everything from the poster of the song to the ambience of the set also looks identical to the 2013-hit film. Previously, in an interview with Curly Tales, Kriti Sanon reminisced the first step of her life in the glamour world and talked about her disastrous photoshoot. The diva revealed how she was self-conscious during the entire process and credited the photographer, who tolerated and accommodated her hesitations. In her words:
“I wasn’t really an established model at that time; I had just started modelling. It was a big photographer who was very sweet. But I knew I was not really doing well and he could see it on my face. He asked me if this was my first shoot, to which I said yes, and further enquired if I had gotten a portfolio done, to which I said no. Though he said not to worry, in my heart, I was not feeling good about myself. Once I left the shoot, I sat in an auto and cried. I went home and said I don’t think I did well… acha nahi hua.”
