Kriti Sanon was over the moon when, on August 24, 2023, the National Film Awards were announced. The gorgeous actress won the Best Actress Award for her scintillating performance in Mimi. There’s no denying the fact that Kriti’s acting performance in Mimi was her career’s best so far. Kriti Sanon was born in New Delhi on July 27, 1990, into a middle-class family. While her father, Rahul Sanon is a chartered accountant, her mother, Geeta Sanon is a physics professor at the University of Delhi. Kriti also has a younger sister, Nupur Sanon, who is who is a trained singer and actress. The family of four often go on vacations, and their bond never fails to give everyone pure family goals.
Talking about Kriti Sanon’s schooling, she studied at Delhi Public School, R. K. Puram. After completing her schooling there, she got admission into Noida’s famous Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, where she pursued a Bachelor of Technology degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering.
At the beginning of her graduation, Kriti wanted to become an engineer and was a fully focused student. However, it was in the second year of her B.Tech degree when she won the Fresh-Face contest, and it changed everything for her.
After winning the Fresh-Face contest, Kriti Sanon went to Mumbai to collect her prize. On her visit to Mumbai, Kriti got an insight into the modelling world and found it quite interesting. However, things went a step further when she participated in a fashion show in Delhi and walked on the ramp for the first time in her life. As per reports, ace fashion designer, Manish Malhotra was also a part of the fashion show and advised Kriti to work in movies. The designer encouraged her and it meant a lot to Kriti, as it came from a designer of such prowess.
Once Kriti Sanon was done with her graduation, she turned her focus towards making a career in films. As expected, her family members and relatives warned her against the B-town politics and camps. Not only this, Kriti's parents also advised her to appear for GMAT and score good marks so that it could be her backup career option if she couldn’t make it in films. For the unversed, the GMAT result is valid for five years. The actress agreed and scored 90 percent marks on average, as she got a GMAT score of 710.
After that, Kriti Sanon started giving auditions and received a lot of rejections like any aspiring actor in the world. However, she got her first break in the Telugu film industry, as famous director, Sukumar cast her in his film, 1: Nenokkadine, opposite South superstar, Mahesh Babu.
When the first schedule of Sukumar’s film, 1: Nenokkadine was completed, Kriti Sanon started getting the attention of the media, as everybody wanted to know the newcomer, who was paired opposite Mahesh Babu.
The media houses were impressed by Kriti’s beauty, and soon, she started gaining the attention of Bollywood directors. Amidst all the buzz around the actress, Sabbir Khan signed Kriti for Heropanti opposite Tiger Shroff, and the film was a huge commercial success.

As per reports, Kriti was paid a sum of Rs. 30 crores to portray the character of ‘Goddess Sita’ in Om Raut's Adipurush. However, once the film was released and turned out to be a box-office failure, it was reported that Kriti was paid just Rs. 3 crores for her role in the movie.
