Konkona Sen Sharma is one of the most talented actresses in the Indian cinema. A recipient of countless awards at the national and state levels, she is the daughter of veteran actress and filmmaker, Aparna Sen and notable writer, Mukul Sharma. Konkona has done some phenomenal works in both Hindi and Bengali film industries, with films like Laga Chunari Mein Daag, Titli, Life In A Metro, Dosar Aaja Nachle, Goynar Baksho among others. Moreover, as a filmmaker, she has created award-winning films like A Death In The Gunj, Lust Stories 2 among others. Currently, Konkona is gearing up for the sequel of the popular crime series, Mumbai Diaries Season 2.
In a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble, Konkona Sen Sharma opened up about the idea of guilt that occurs in working single mothers. For the unversed, after her parent’s separation, Konkona was single-handedly raised by her mom, Aparna Sen. In fact, she too is a single mom, who has opted to co-parent her son, Haroon along with her ex-husband, Ranvir Shorey. Speaking along the same lines, the actress mentioned that the aspect of guilt always works in mothers mostly, and in the cases of her and her mother, the situation was no different. She mentioned:
“I think all working mothers are superheroes. Me, my mum, my bai, all of us are superheroes. I think a little bit of guilt comes with the territory of motherhood, unfortunately. I have been very lucky because I have had a working mother and largely a single working mother for my growing up years. So, I have always had the template of that and that’s my normal.”

Further in the interview, Konkona was asked if she ever got affected by the criticisms, she got for being a single mother to her son. To this, the actress revealed that since she knows the reality of her circumstances, she never really paid any attention to what people said. In her words:
“So, beyond a point, what people say and what they don’t is not my business. Even if they are talking about me is not my business actually. They want to talk, they can talk. There are so many other interesting things to focus on. And there are many interesting things to occupy oneself with, luckily.”
For the unversed, Konkona and Ranvir got divorced in 2020, and since then, they have been peacefully co-parenting their son, Haroon together. In one of her earlier interactions with Bollywood Bubble, Konkona had spoken up about the experience of co-parenting her son, with her ex-husband, and had credited the latter for being hands-on invested in the matter.

Back in 2020, Ranvir had once hosted an ‘Ask Me Anything’ session on his social media handle, and had answered one of his fan’s query about the possibility of him reuniting with his ex-wife, Konkona Sen Sharma, for the sake of their son. To this, Ranvir had responded wittily and had simply dropped a series of laughing emojis.
