She also dragged her ex-husband, Kanye West, into it, claiming that he was partly responsible for her health scare.

Kim Kardashian opened up about her brain aneurysm, psoriasis, and Stockholm syndrome

Kim Kardashian disclosed her health struggles, including a brain aneurysm and a returning flare-up of psoriasis, which she attributes to stress from her divorce from Kanye West. During the premiere of The Kardashians, Kim revealed that she was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm, which was discovered during a routine MRI. Doctors explained that the condition is often caused by stress, and a tearful Kardashian reflected that the health scare was likely due to the turmoil of her divorce from Kanye.

For the unversed, a brain aneurysm is a bulge in the wall of a blood vessel in the brain. While many are small and don't cause issues, it can be life-threatening if the vessel ruptures. Besides a brain aneurysm, Kim has been public about her autoimmune skin condition, psoriasis, for years. Her mother, Kris Jenner, also has the condition. The condition causes itchy, scaly red patches on the skin, which Kardashian has had on her face, legs, and other parts of her body. Stress is a known trigger for flare-ups.

On The Kardashians, Kim shared that her psoriasis had returned after having subsided for a while. She connected the symptoms' flare-up to the stress of her divorce from Kanye West. About 30% of people with psoriasis also develop psoriatic arthritis, a painful inflammation of the joints, which Kim Kardashian has also developed. During the same season premiere, Kim also described feeling like she had 'a bit of Stockholm syndrome' during her marriage to Kanye West.

Kim explained that she felt the need to protect and help him through his public outbursts. She added that currently, for the first time since her split with Kanye, she no longer felt that sense of personal responsibility. Kim's only concern was protecting their children, North, 12, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 6. Kim also mentioned concealing Kanye's erratic episodes from their kids, but lately, they started understanding what was going on. Regarding Kim's Stockholm syndrome (the tendency to justify the act of their captor or tormentor), Kim said:

"I always felt like I had a little bit of Stockholm Syndrome, to where I always felt really bad, and always protected, and always wanted to help. And this was the first time I didn't feel that responsibility personally."

Kim Kardashian directly linked her brain aneurysm and other ailments to the stress of her divorce from Kanye West. Medical experts say there is no direct link between stress alone and health issues. However, prolonged stress can lead to high blood pressure, which is a known risk factor for developing an aneurysm and psoriasis. Hence, the ailments might have been triggered due to Kim's stress over Kanye's unruly behaviour, but it cannot be the reason for her developing the diseases.
