Khushi Is 'Trying To Follow' Sridevi's Footsteps, To Appear In 'Mom' Sequel, Reveals Boney Kapoor

Khushi Kapoor has been a part of the industry since the day she was born despite only having done three films so far. The young actress is the daughter of Boney Kapoor, and the late actress, Sridevi. While she might not possess the experience of her late mother, she is still prepared to follow in the actress' footsteps. 

Boney Kapoor revealed he is planning Mom 2 with Khushi Kapoor

Producer, Boney Kapoor appeared at the 25th anniversary celebration of IIFA Awards 2025 on March 9, 2025. The producer made a surprising revelation during his interaction with the paparazzi on the green carpet. He shared that he was planning the sequel to his late wife, Sridevi's last project, Mom. However, that was not all. Boney revealed that he planned on making the film's second instalment with his younger daughter, Khushi Kapoor. 

During the media interaction, Boney Kapoor expressed his love for his and late actress, Sridevi's daughters, Khushi and Janhvi Kapoor. For the unversed, the film, Mom was released in 2017 and starred Sridevi in the lead role. It was directed by Ravi Udyawar. The actor also received the Best Actress National Award, posthumously, for her performance in the film. Boney also revealed that his daughters are trying to follow in their mother, Sridevi's footsteps and aspire to achieve a similar level of perfection across different film industries. He stated:

"I have watched all of Khushi's films. Archies, Loveyappa and Nadaaniyaan. I am planning a film with her too after No Entry. It would be a movie with Khushi. It could be Mom 2. She is trying to follow in the footsteps of her mother. Her mother was the top star in all the languages she worked in. I hope Khushi and Janhvi succeeded in this same level of perfection."

Boney Kapoor donned a green velvet blazer for the occasion 

Boney Kapoor appeared on the IIFA Awards 2025 green carpet in a green velvet blazer with a black lapel. The producer paired his look for the night with black formal pants, a white shirt, a black pocket square, a bowtie, black tinted sunglasses and black leather formal shoes. He looked well groomed, with his hair styled neatly. However, both Khushi and Janhvi Kapoor remained missing from the award night.

About IIFA Awards 2025

IIFA 2025 was held in the 'Pink City', Jaipur, Rajasthan, from March 7 to March 9, 2025. This year's awards marked a historic milestone in IIFA's journey of showcasing Bollywood on a global platform. Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar hosted the main IIFA Awards night and featured beautiful performances, including a special tribute by Kareena Kapoor Khan to her grandfather, Raj Kapoor. She performed on his iconic songs, including Mera Joota Hai Japani and Pyar Hua Ikraar Hua. On the other hand, Shah Rukh Khan gave an electric performance with Madhuri Dixit. The Tourism Department will prepare for the award ceremony under the supervision of Diya Kumari.
