Kendriya Vidyalaya's Teacher Commits Suicide Due To Husband, Leaves Last Text 'Wanted Working Maid'

A 29-year-old teacher working at Kendriya Vidyalaya School in Delhi ended her life after suffering for five years at the hands of her husband and in-laws. The unfortunate incident left her parental family in deep shock. Before dying by suicide, the teacher, who was also a mother of a son, left an emotional message for her parents and brother.

KV teacher urged parents to take care of her son before dying by suicide

On March 16, 2025, Anvita Sharma, KV's teacher, sent her final WhatsApp message to her parents. She bared her heart out in her last emotional message and revealed how she had been constantly criticised by her husband, knew, how to find fault in everything she did. She also revealed that her in-laws are no saints as they are a family who only 'knows how to take'.

Anvita Sharma mentioned that her husband, who is a practising doctor by profession, has married her job and not her. In the letter, she mentioned how her mother-in-law had taunted her the most in the past five years of her marriage. The family wanted someone who would only focus on them. As reported by TOI, the teachers' last message could be read as:

"He married my job, not me. My husband wanted a beautiful, hardworking wife who also had a job. I did everything I could, but it was never enough. They wanted someone who would only focus on the in-laws, but my parents and brother were equally important to me. No mother-in-law could have taunted me as much as my husband did in the past five years. He found faults in everything I did."

Further in the message, Anvita mentioned that her in-laws always told her they 'only wanted a working maid'. She also revealed that her husband had access to her bank accounts, chequebook and everything. In her final message, she also urged her parents to take care of her son, and she didn't want him to be like his father. She wrote:

"My husband has access to my bank accounts, chequebook and everything. Please just take care of my child. I love my son the most in this world, and I want you to keep him with you. I don’t want him to become like his father."

However, Anvita Sharma's concluding message shows how much pain she was suffering as she gave a direct message to her husband to eat the food she had prepared. She wrote:

"I have prepared food, Gaurav Kaushik, please eat it."

According to a report by TOI, the deceased's family has filed a complaint against her husband, Gaurav Kaushik, his father, Surendra Sharma and his mother, Manju, under BNS section 85 (husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty), 80 (2) (punishment for dowry death), 115 (2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 352 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and sections of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961.
