Kavya Maran was born in 1991 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. She is the daughter of Kalanithi Maran and Kavery Kalanithi. While Kalanithi is the founder of Sun Group, Kavery is among India's highest-paid executive directors. The couple tied the knot in 1991 and on August 6, 1992. For the uninitiated, Kavya is the great-grandnephew of Tamil Nadu's former CM and late politician, M Karunanidhi, who led the state for almost two decades.
Talking about Kavya Maran's educational background, as per multiple reports, she completed her schooling from Chennai. However, she pursued her undergraduate degree from the Stella Maris College. After completing her undergraduate degree, Kavya went to the UK and took admission to the prestigious Warwick Business School. While pursuing an MBA at Warwick, Kavya learnt some of the most essential and important lessons about leadership and business, which she applied to her family business as soon as she came back and took command of things.
Soon after coming back to India, Kavya Maran joined her father, Kalanithi Maran's esteemed conglomerate, Sun Group. While working with her father and managing one of Asia's largest media networks, Kavya Maran understood the Indian market and its customers. In the following years, she became the co-owner of the Indian Premier League team, Sunrisers Hyderabad.
