However, today, we are going to talk about Kaveri Kapur, who made her acting debut on February 11, 2025, with the film, Bobby Aur Rishi Ki Love Story, opposite Vardhan Puri. The film is directed by renowned actor and filmmaker, Kunal Kohli, who has directed films like Hum Tum, Fanaa, Break Ke Baad, and many more.

Kaveri Kapur and Vardhan Puri's film, Bobby Aur Rishi Ki Love Story, premiered on JioHotstar and has received mixed reviews. In the opinion of many viewers, Bobby Aur Rishi Ki Love Story is Gen-Z and Genz-Alpha version of the iconic 2004 film, Hum Tum. Although the film's storyline can be a topic of discussion, but it's fair to say that Kaveri has impressed the audience with her acting skills in their debut film. Cinephiles who have watched his mother, Suchitra Krishnamoorthi's films found so much similarity between her and Kaveri's acting. It was a treat for the 90s audience to see Kaveri in a rom-com as it reminded everyone of Suchitra's iconic film, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa.

Kaveri Kapur has made her acting debut in Bollywood, but not everyone is aware of the fact that even before stepping into the film industry, she was quite famous on social media for her melodious voice. For the uninitiated, Kaveri Kapur is also a professional singer, who has sung five songs so far, including Did You Know, Half A Heart, Again, Personal, and Smell of The Rain. Kaveri's first song, Did You Know, was a hit, bringing her immense fame and success.

What's even more incredible is that Did You Know is the song Kaveri Kapur wrote when she was just 11. Even in her debut film, Bobby Aur Rishi Ki Love Story, Kaveri sang the song, Ek Dhaaga Toda Maine, which she wrote when she was just 15. Despite being so good at singing, Kaveri ventured into acting, and she was asked about the same in an interview, she is the first one after Farhan Akhtar to make Bollywood debut as a singer and actor. With a strong fanbase of 15.5K followers, Suchitra is pumped to contribute to Indian cinema just like her parents, Shekhar Kapur and Suchitra Krishnamoorthi.

The critically acclaimed filmmaker, Shekhar Kapur's first marriage was with Medha Gujral, niece of India's former PM, Inder Kumar Gujral. The couple got married in 1984 and parted ways in 1994. It was in 1997 when Shekhar created a stir in the entire film industry when he got married to Suchitra Krishnamoorthi, who was 30 years younger than him. The couple gave birth to a baby girl and chose the name Kaveri for her. However, cracks soon started appearing in their marriage, and what followed was an ugly divorce proceeding. Suchitra accused Shekhar of infidelity and also blamed Priety Zinta for their broken marriage.

The couple also indulged in a property dispute, and finally, in 2007, they were officially divorced. During the divorce battle, Kaveri Kapur reportedly developed a lot of anxiety due to her parents' ugly divorce. It was a tough time for the family, but fast forward to 2025, and everything is in control. Suchitra and Shekhar have been co-parenting their daughter, Kaveri, for some years and continue guiding the young actress-singer in her life.
