The popular television actress, Kaushiki Rathore is leading all the headlines at the moment after she admitted that she was told to compromise in the initial years of her acting career. The renowned actress, who has become a household name across the nation after her performances in shows like Krishna Chali London, Gudiya Hamara Sabhi Pe Bhari, and Story 9 months Ki. Well, Kaushiki's revelation has once again put the entertainment industry's dark side in the limelight.
In a conversation with IANS (Indo-Asian News Service), Kaushiki Rathore recalled the initial years of her acting career in the entertainment business. She shared some shocking instances from the same. The actress admitted that there are so many trends in the industry that have been changed or transformed over the decades. However, one thing that still exists in the industry is the casting couch. Throwing more light on her traumatic experience on the casting couch, Kaushiki admitted that when she was giving auditions for a South project, that was when she was asked for favours. She said:
"The industry has changed so much but the one thing that hasn't changed is asking for favours in return for work. The incident happened with me when I had started giving auditions and chanced upon an opportunity in the South project."

Further in the interview, Kaushiki Rathore shared more details about her casting couch experience, which was quite disturbing. The actress admitted that when the makers handed the contract papers to her, they added some of their demands. Kaushiki clearly stated that she was told to compromise, and at that time, she was in utter shock as, like many people, she also thought that the casting couch wasn’t a real thing in the entertainment industry. When Kaushiki got into that terrible situation, it affected her mental state terribly, and she immediately declined the offer. The actress stated:
"All the things got finalised but when they handed over the contract to me they added some of their conditions and asked me to compromise. I was bewildered as I had only heard about such incidents, but when it happened to me it shook the ground beneath me. I declined their offer but their words affected my mental state."
In the end, Kaushiki Rathore was asked to share her thoughts on the entertainment industry and how she managed to put that traumatic casting couch experience behind. In response to the same, Kaushiki admitted that she understood quite early that the entire industry wasn’t like those people, who told her to compromise. Thus, she encourages everyone to take a stand for themselves and compromising isn’t a way to success. The actress explained:
"Despite the incident, I believe that not all are bad. We just need to learn to differentiate between good and bad. People should understand that compromising is not the only way to make it big in the industry."
