Two days after Travis Clark confessed he cheated on his wife while she was pregnant, Katie Bates reacted to the same. On January 19, 2026, Katie took to her Instagram handle and posted a long note. She penned that it is not how she imagined the beginning of the New Year. Katie stated that many know that her marriage has hit a rough patch and her trust has been broken. She added that she has been taking life one day at a time and focusing on what matters to her. She wrote:

"This is not how I imagined beginning this year or this new season of our lives. This has been an incredibly painful time for me and for our family. As many now know, our marriage has been deeply hurt and my trust has been broken. Right now, I am taking life one day at a time and focusing on what matters most: our children, their future, and my own healing."

Katie Bates thanked her fans for supporting her during this tough time. She further added that her husband privately expressed his regret and sorrow for his actions. She added that Travis thought that she felt it was important to publicly take accountability for what he had done, and she supported his decision and desire. She added:

"I am truly thankful for the love, prayers, and support so many have shown. To everyone who has reached out, please know that I am deeply grateful. After privately expressing deep regret and sorrow for his actions, Travis told me he felt it was important to publicly take accountability for what he has done, and I support his decision and desire for transparency."

Katie Bates further shared that together they are working on seeking counsel together and individually as they try to determine the best path forward for their family. Currently, their ultimate focus is their children, and they are their highest priority. Katie further requested privacy for her family and stated that social media is her work and she cannot delay her work anymore.

As per a report in Parade, Katie Blates and Travis Clark's fans noticed her husband's absence from her social media handle. Some fans even claimed that Katie unfollowed several of her husband's female nursing school classmates. The speculations were rife on Reddit, and one user wrote:

"I feel like this sub has been speculating about this for some time but damn…seeing it confirmed. I never thought I’d see their family posting about this publicly. We’ve all heard the rumours about Tori and Bobby, I always assumed it something like this happened to a Bates sister it would go that route."

Soon, netizens flooded the comments section. One user slammed Travis for announcing his cheating publicly when his wife just had a miscarriage, and wrote, "This can’t be real….to post this publicly a few days after your wife shares about a miscarriage. Damn, his reputation is in the dirt." Another user commented, "Wow I’m actually shocked. Y’all were right when you thought something was going on. Travis seems to be compensating for the loss of Katie and wants to take responsibility for being a missing husband when she needed him most. He apologised for the pain, humiliation and betrayal he caused his wife. Travis further urged people on the internet to respect his wife's privacy, as she is going through the most difficult time. He accepted that his apology cannot repair what he broke, and that forgiveness is neither something he deserves nor can ask for.
