However, the women born in the Kapoor household seemed to have stayed away from the films. Karisma broke this loop and entered the film industry. Not only that, the actress also talked about it during an interview. The actress sat for a chat with Lehren Retro in 1990 before the release of her debut film and shared about working in the film industry. She was quoted saying:
"Well, I think that will be a choice. My whole family is full of actors and actresses. My father and his brother have married heroines. So if they could marry heroines, why can't they work? It's the same thing."
When the interviewer told Karisma that even the daughter-in-laws had quit acting after getting married into the Kapoor family, the sixteen-year-old actress quipped that she didn't understand why everyone was under that illusion. Not only that, she revealed that even her grandfather, Raj Kapoor, knew she would become an actress and supported her. She was quoted saying:
"I don't know why everybody is under this illusion. In fact, my father encourages me now. He always tells me, 'Don’t let the Kapoor name down'. Even my grandfather (Raj Kapoor) always used to say, 'Lolo baby, I know you will become (actor). But I just want to tell you one thing, if you become an actress, you be the best, otherwise don't.'"
In the same conversation, Karisma Kapoor was asked about her first day of shoot. She responded to the same and revealed that she had waited so long to face the camera, and it felt nice. She recalled a scene she shot with Salman Khan and Reema Lagoo. Karisma further added that the director was excellent and that everyone made her feel comfortable. She was quoted as saying:
"I have waited for so long to face the camera. It was very nice. There was Salman Khan and Reema Lagoo, and we did a short scene. The director is so nice, so sweet, he's excellent. Everybody made me feel very comfortable. That was the first time I had ever faced the camera. I had never given a screen test to anybody."
