Karisma Kapoor is rightfully hailed as the OG fashion icon in Bollywood. She can be safely credited to have been the trendsetter with her fashion choices. Be it sexy latex pants, cool athleisure wear, chiffon sarees, bell bottoms to skater dresses and more, Karisma has always set the bar higher when it comes to fashion. However, in retrospect, the diva seems to find her inspiration in a greater legend.
Karisma Kapoor recently turned cover girl for the Grazia magazine. In an interaction with the magazine, the actress opened up about her own inspiration when it comes to fashion. Karisma tagged none other than the late superstar, Sridevi behind the same and explained how the iconic superstar left a major impact on her own sartorial choices. She expressed:

“When we started, we were told what to wear but then over time, we got involved. I think generally we were inspired by what was happening in the west, old stories of actors, and especially what Sri ji (Sridevi) used to do.”

Speaking along the same lines, Karisma talked more about Sridevi’s inspirational fashion choices and credited her for striving to remain dynamic with the times. Adding how she was inspired by Sridevi right through her childhood, Karisma said:
“She moved with the times. I’ve been inspired by her as a child.”
In the concluding note of her interaction, Karisma Kapoor delved into the sheer fashion trends that her popular film, Dil Toh Pagal Hai contributed to set in the Indian culture. The actress admitted the same and elaborated how the film was a turning point across various platforms. She added:
“It was iconic. Jazz, athleisure, a mainstream actress not getting the hero, it was a turning point.”

Earlier, while speaking at an event in Kolkata arranged by the Ladies Study Group, Karisma Kapoor had opened up about her decision to step down from films at her career’s peak. The diva claimed it was a privileged choice that she made, and added how she wanted to become a dedicated mother to her kids, Samaira and Kiaan and not miss out the precious moments from their childhood.
