Kareena Kapoor has been winning hearts since her debut in the 2000. She has been seen as a symbol of confidence, beauty and fitness in the Hindi film industry. The actress is seen as an ideal example of a modern woman who manages the responsibilities of being a wife and mother with her work. Still, Bebo doesn't shy away from sharing an accurate account of her struggles behind the scenes. In a recent conversation, Kareena revealed her experience with post-pregnancy weight gain and shared how she dealt with it.
Kareena Kapoor recently attended the book launch event of her former nutritionist, Rujuta Diwekar. During the conversation, she discussed her relationship with food and body image. Living by her popular on-screen philosophy of "Main apni favourite hu" in real life, the actress mentioned that she has always been comfortable in her skin. However, there was a moment when she panicked about her weight gain, after the birth of her second son, Jehangir, in 2021. In her words:
"After Jeh's birth, there was a moment when I felt 'Oh my God, I have to go back and do this all over again'."
Kareena added that she had gained 25 kgs of post-pregnancy weight, but that panic was just for a moment because she immediately got back to her old self. She thought she still looked wonderful, making an important statement for new mothers. The Jab We Met actress explained that everyone should live by the same philosophy of feeling self-love, particularly women who must keep reminding themselves about it. She said:
"That's the only way every woman should live their life because self-belief is everything. However, you think or feel, you have to constantly keep telling yourself that. If you reassure yourself every day, it just becomes easy to believe, and then others will start believing it. Not that it matters what others think; at least I have always lived like that."
Kareena Kapoor had previously worked with Rujuta, who believes she is one of his most confident clients, which is impressive. The nutritionist shared that often, when she talks with Bebo, that actress shares that she feels she is looking good and fit. In turn, Kareena shared that she was a chubby kid in her childhood, but that didn't make her any less happy. Recalling those days, the diva said:
"I was always a chubby kid. But I was always happy. My relationship with food has been amazing, and I think that has really helped. It's not like I have ever tried to starve to look thin. I am very comfortable in my own skin. In my teenage years, I was also always really happy to pick up a packet of chips and eat. I was a confident girl."
