Raj Kapoor is one of the pioneers of the Bollywood film industry, and his contribution to Indian cinema is unforgettable. He, in a way, paved the path for Hindi movies in the world of entertainment, and on December 14 2024, it will mark his 100th birthday. To celebrate this, the Kapoor clan is hosting a celebration, Raj Kapoor 100 Film Festival, where his glorious films will be telecast in the cinemas near you.
Kareena Kapoor, along with Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Neetu Kapoor, and Saif Ali Khan, went to Delhi on December 10, 2024, to invite PM Modi to join the celebration of Raj Kapoor's legacy. Taking to her Instagram account, the diva shared a carousel of pictures with the Prime Minister as the Kapoor clan spent some quality time with him and invited him to the celebration. Sharing the photos, Kareena penned:
"We are deeply humbled and honoured to have been invited by the Honourable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, to commemorate the extraordinary life and legacy of our grandfather, the legendary Raj Kapoor. Thank you Shri Modi ji for such a special afternoon. Your warmth, attention, and support in celebrating this milestone meant the world to us."
Kareena thanked PM Modi for hosting them with warmth and supporting their endeavour. She added that as they celebrate their grandfather's 100th anniversary, they want to dedicate it to his artistic vision and contribution to Indian cinema. The Kapoor clan wish to thank him for inspiring generations with his timeless classics and pay an ode to his legacy. Kareena also shared the details of the 'Raj Kapoor Film Festival' and wrote:
As we celebrate 100 glorious years of Dadaji’s artistry, vision, and contribution to Indian cinema, we honour the timeless impact of his legacy, which continues to inspire us and generations to come. We are proud to showcase his iconic films and remember the impact he had on Indian cinema with the ‘Raj Kapoor 100 Film Festival’. Dec 13-15, 2024 | 10 films | 40 cities | 135 cinemas."
In the same carousel, Kareena shared a picture where she can be seen taking PM Modi's autograph. On the paper, PM Modi, wrote that the autograph was for Kareena's little ones, Jeh and Taimur.
For the day, Kareena opted for a red-hued full-sleeved anarkali suit with golden and silver floral work on it. She paired it with an organza dupatta and kept her makeup simple with kohl-rimmed eyes, pink lips and a bindi.
