In a conversation with BBC Asian Network, Kareena talked about how people had suggested her that marriage will affect her career, and how she had replied that she is not in a rat race or any competition. The actress said, “I left the rat race a long time back. Even before, everyone was like don’t get married, your career’s over. I was like I don’t wanna be in this, I’m not running this competition, I’m not a rat, I’m an actor. A lot of women actually took inspiration from this. So the idea was that a lot of people suddenly had faith that this can, and a lot of people followed that, from this generation.”

Kareena Kapoor Khan also talked about how immature she was when she had entered Bollywood and how her perspective towards things have changed with time. She said, “It makes me feel like, "what was I thinking?" Because so much has changed in the last two decades and I have changed as a person. My entire approach to life and thinking has changed. I think when I was 17, you’re immature, you kind of think like you own the world. Of course, a 17-year-old should think that, as that is the age to think that and learn from mistakes. I'm happy to know I have nothing to regret, but I have learnt from my mistakes.”

Kareena had tied the knot with Saif Ali Khan in 2012, and in the same interview, she talked about life after marrying Saif and the things she has learned from her husband. She said, "The best thing I’ve learned from Saif is being comfortable with myself and not always be running after money, success, fame. He’s taught me to love the greater things in life, that there’s something greater than money, fame and success, which I probably didn’t know -- like family, love, calmness, peace of mind, or reading a book, or sitting and having a conversation not about work and competition.” (Don't Miss: Arjun Rampal's GF, Gabriella Demetriades Opens Up About Spending Time With Son, Arik Amidst Lockdown)

Kareena Kapoor Khan had attended the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit in 2019. During the event, she had said that marrying Saif when she was at the peak of her career was the best decision of her life. Bebo had revealed, “The decision to get married was...it is not a crime to be in love and if nobody wants to work with me because I am in love and I am married then don’t because I will do whatever I want. Everyone said your career is over and I said if it is so, be it. But this is what I want to do, this is the person I want to spend the rest of my life and I will do it. I think it the best decision I have made, as of now." (Recommended Read: Ranbir Kapoor And Alia Bhatt's Unseen Picture From Their First Official Public Appearance Together)

Earlier in an interview with Pinkvilla, Kareena had revealed an interesting detail about her love story with Saif. She had shared that whenever Saif had proposed to her, every time she had said she doesn't know. In Kareena's own words, "He did tell me that ‘I think we should get married’. He told me that in Greece and he told me that in Ladakh as well. And at that time I was like ‘I don’t know because I don’t know you’. So it was not really a ‘no’ but it was more like an ‘I want to know you better.'"
