Kareena was quoted as saying, “I chose to celebrate Mother’s Day on this stage with other eminent people because my son (Taimur) is celebrating Father’s Day with his father. Kareena is a UNICEF Goodwill Advocate, and she emphasised the significance of the support of the family in a child’s upbringing. She stated, “I’ve been lucky [and] give utmost credit to Saif. The first thing after childbirth that you want to do is put the child on the mother’s breast. After childbirth I was tired, but that was on my mind. With my eyes half shut, I asked Saif to give Taimur that kangaroo love. When the mother is recuperating from childbirth, the father must step in. A shout out to those fathers whose support is important for a newborn’s health.” (Also Read: Janhvi Kapoor's Unseen Picture With Late Mother, Sridevi On Mother's Day, Will Leave You Teary Eyed)

Speaking of her pregnancy phase, Kareena revealed, “In nine months of pregnancy, there were two aspects that I realised are most important for the mother and the newborn. First, being in a safe pair of hands at the time of birth and after. A support team - a doctor, nurse, a midwife, etc. I was blessed to have them. It is not a privilege, it's a right - no matter who the mother is - to be in a safe pair of hands. Second, a husband's support to the wife. I have a good set of helpers. It would be unfair not to mention them. I would like to thank them. And grandparents are always to the rescue.” (Also Read: Soha, Aishwarya, Karan, Gauri, Farah, Mira Share Pics Of Their Kids With Grandmoms On Mother's Day)

Acknowledging her hubby, Saif Ali Khan’s parenting skills, Kareena said, “It takes two to tango. It takes two to make a child, and we need to share the load and responsibility. Of course what a mother can do, a father can’t, but there are a lot of things that a father can bring to a table that probably a mother can’t. And, if we are lucky to have that support, I should use it to the fullest.” (Also Read: 'Ye Hai Mohabbatein' Fame Karan Patel Finally Confirms His Wife, Ankita Karan Patel's Pregnancy)

Adding further, “Taimur loves his time with his mother! I think his mother spoils him because I’m always giving him the warmth and the cuddle. His father is teaching him to play cricket. So there are things that we both try to balance out. When I’m doing a film, then Saif tries to be around. But now he’s shooting for the last three-and-a-half months so I be around Taimur.”

Kareena further discussed how they as working parents are balancing out on their roles for Taimur, “Taimur loves his time with his mother, his mother spoils him with cuddles, and his father is teaching him to play cricket, so we balance things. When I’m doing a film, Saif tries to be around and vice versa.” (Also Read: 15 Stunningly Stylish 'Maa-Beti' Jodis Of Bollywood Who Look More Like Sisters)

Kareena Kapoor Khan is busy promoting her film, Veere Di Wedding and shares how she balances her personal and professional life with ease because of some real-life inspirations. She quipped, “Women in every field are two steps ahead of men. By nature, women know how to multi-task. Mere khud ki mother-in-law (actor Sharmila Tagore) ko hi dekh lo; pichhle 50 saal se kaam kar rahi hain. She has been an epitome of elegance and grace; so I think women today are taking inspiration from fellow women.”
