Actress, Kajol will be seen playing the role of a cop for the very first time in the Netflix film, Do Patti. Today, on October 14, 2024, Kajol made an appearance at the trailer launch event of the film. Kriti Sanon and Shaheer Sheikh, who also have significant roles in the movie, were also present. At the event, Kajol shared her thoughts on betrayal and whether she had experienced any in her own life. Her candid response to one reporter’s question on the same has even taken social media by storm.
Betrayal is apparently a very significant theme in Netflix’s Do Patti. So, Kajol took a moment at the trailer launch event to share her personal views on the topic. In her witty words:
“Betrayal is something I think everyone experiences in their life. You feel it as an adult when you’ve grown up, you feel it as a child sometimes, you feel it as a teenager. You will feel it as an adult at some point in your life for sure. Otherwise, you haven’t lived life at all, or you’ve been a monk under a tree somewhere. We’ve all felt betrayal.”
Kajol further explained that the concept of betrayal was portrayed 'quite well' in Do Patti. She joked that the film had so many turns and twists that it might even get tiring after a point.
A moment from the Do Patti trailer launch recently went viral on social media. In the clip, a reporter asked Kajol if she had personally experienced betrayal in her life. However, the question didn’t sit right with the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai actress, as she bluntly replied:
“Don’t be daft. I am not going to share an anecdote. It is too personal. If it is a betrayal, it is too personal. Obviously, I will not.”
Kajol then humorously asked her co-stars, Kriti and Shaheer, if they wanted to share their own anecdotes. Shaheer laughed off the question and responded that he had nothing to say. However, Kriti had some fun with the reporter and asked them to talk about their own story of betrayal. According to the Free Press Journal, the reporter sportingly replied that they would do so off-record.

During the event, Kajol was also asked if she had been slightly nervous about playing a cop on-screen for the first time. The talented actress revealed that wearing a cop’s uniform automatically instilled a sense of respect for it. Also, she emphasised that she had never been nervous before the release of any of her films, saying:
“I give all my heart to my job, and when I do that, I have 100 percent faith in myself. Everyone has a different perspective. Some will like it, and some won’t, but that’s a different situation. We work for audiences to love us. I appreciate that love.”
Kajol was also asked if she had taken any tips for the role from her husband, Ajay Devgn, who plays a cop in the film, Singham. She replied that she hadn’t and quipped that she was the real 'Singham at home'.
What do you think about Kajol’s blunt response to the reporter’s ‘daft’ question? Let us know.
