Kajol is one of the most talented actresses in Bollywood. She never leaves a chance to mesmerise her fans with her amazing acting mettle. Moreover, she is loved by millions for her upfront and bubbly nature. She has worked in many blockbuster films like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Dilwale, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, My Name Is Khan, Lust Stories 2, Baazigar, Fanaa and many more. And now, the actress is back on the silver screen with her OTT series, The Trial-Love, Kanoon, Dhokha.
In an interview with ANI, Kajol opened up about her maternal lineage and revealed how it helped in becoming a strong individual. Talking about the same, the actress stated that she was raised by a wonderful woman who never paid any heed to what society says. Mentioning how she never cared about what people think, Kajol said that she has a beautiful maternal lineage that taught her to be responsible for her life without caring about others' opinions. In her words:

"I have never paid heed to 'log kya kahenge in my life. I was raised by a wonderful mother. I was raised by a mother who did not give two hoots about society. Actually, I had a wonderful maternal lineage. From my great-grandmother to my grandmother and my mother, every one of them has always behaved and taught me by example that nobody else matters, your life is your responsibility and nobody else's opinion matters on that."

In the same interview, Kajol stated that she does not believe in giving the steering wheel of her life to someone else's hands. Elaborating more on it, the actress stated it is important for one to take responsibility and decide their actions. Further, Kajol said that her grandmother and great-grandmother believed in living their lives on their own terms without giving any heed to society. The diva stated her mother, Tanuja lives her life without caring about the society, and she is also trying to do the same. Kajol said:
"Firstly, take responsibility for your life...your actions are your own not dictated by society. Secondly, at the end of the day, society will have to accept what you make out of your life and that's how my great-grandmother and grandmother lived their lives. Both of them had amazingly different opinions on life and the world. My mother literally lives her life till today. I am trying to live my life like them."
Earlier, in an interview with ETimes, Kajol had opened up about her mother, Tanuja. Talking about her, the actress stated she shared a warm relationship with her mother. She also credited her mother for shaping her into a better person. Further, Kajol praised her mother for her parenting skills and stated that Tanuja always treated her like an adult.
