Kajol Revealed She Won't Do Scenes That Require Her To Be 'Molested', Says 'It's Very Disturbing'

Kajol Devgan has been the most gorgeous actress in the business for many years. It was in 1992 when Kajol made her acting debut with the film, Bekhudi. However, she became a notable actress with her performance in the 1993 hit thriller Baazigar opposite Shah Rukh Khan. Since then, there has been no looking back. Kajol has worked hard on her craft, and she continues to be every director's first choice when it comes to playing diverse characters. Recently, Kajol expressed her wish to refuse scenes that require her to get molested or physically abused on camera.

Kajol Devgan talked about performing scenes where she is required to get molested

Kajol, who made an appearance on the Netflix Film Actors' Roundtable 2023, shared that she is simply going to say a 'no' to scenes that involve her being molested or physically abused. The actress admitted that she had been part of it in the past. She added that when actors shoot such scenes, they actually feel the emotions. Otherwise, the camera can detect when you are not being honest. She was quoted as saying:

"It has always been my take as an actor that I’ll not do scenes that require me to be either molested or in any which way show me in a place where I don’t want to be because I think as actors when we do a shot, we’re feeling it, we’re really feeling it. So yes, we are actors up to a point but the camera I feel is one of those things it’s like man-made magic and it tends to capture it if you’re not being honest in front of it. At times like this, you need to be honest."

Kajol further shared that she doesn't want to be part of such scenes of being physically abused or molested. The actress added that she doesn't feel that she needs to prove herself as a good actor by performing such scenes. Kajol also shared that shooting such scenes is 'very, very uncomfortable and disturbing'. She said:

"That’s been my personal this thing on it that, ‘No, I don’t want to do this. I don’t feel comfortable. I don’t feel comfortable when I have to act out a scene where I am being physically abused or molested’…I have done it, it’s not that I haven’t. But it’s very very very uncomfortable and very disturbing. And I don’t feel I need to do it to prove a point. I can prove my point to be a good actor in 100 different other ways, I don’t need this particular experience."
