Veteran actor, Kabir Bedi's autobiography, Stories I Must Tell: The Emotional Life of an Actor has unfolded some hidden and unknown pages of his life. From declaring his love for actress, Parveen Babi to going bankrupt in Hollywood, the actor's life has been nothing less than a roller-coaster ride of emotions and experiences.

However, in his latest interview, Kabir Bedi has talked about his son, late Siddharth Bedi's battle with mental illness and suicide. The doting father recalled the scary phase and shared some valuable knowledge about mental illness with everyone.
In an interview with Brut India, Kabir Bedi recalled one of the most traumatic phases of his life and how he overcame it. The veteran actor opened up about his son, Siddharth Bedi, who had committed suicide in 1997 when he was just 25 years old after being diagnosed with Schizophrenia and a long battle with it. Taking about the same, the doting father also highlighted his bankruptcy in Hollywood. Kabir said, "I went through traumatic experiences with my son's suicide, with my bankruptcy in Hollywood."
Going further in his interview, when Kabir Bedi was asked to reveal how he had tackled different distressing phases his life. The actor explained that time and again, he had reinvented himself throughtout his life. Kabir said, "It's very humiliating for a celebrity to be bankrupted. But you have to find ways of rising and resurrecting yourself. All through my life, I've reinvented myself."

When Kabir Bedi was asked to unfold some more layers about his son, late Siddharth Bedi, the doting father, stated that his son was a bright techie. He said, "My son, who was a bright, young techie on the verge of immense success in the internet age. A graduate from Carnegie Mellon University."
Kabir Bedi also hinted at the suffering he and his family had faced during Siddharth's mental illness. He said, "So I've experienced that personally. And I feel deeply for people, not only, who go through it, but also the caregivers. Because the caregivers in a sense suffer as much."

A few months ago, in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Kabir Bedi had talked about his son, late Siddharth Bedi's mental illness. The father had also recalled the starting phase of Siddharth's illness. Kabir had said, "Suddenly, one day, he couldn't think. We tried so hard to first figure out what was wrong, and for three years, we battled these unknown ghosts."
Concluding his statement, Kabir Bedi had opened up about the scariest incident of that phase that includes eight police officers. He had said, "Eventually, he had this extremely violent breakout in the streets of Montreal, and it took eight policemen to nail him down. And then, the doctors in Montreal finally diagnosed him as schizophrenic."
