'Kaantha' Trailer Out, Dulquer Salmaan Fights With Mentor To Protect His Ego And Fame In Tamil Film

After producing the record-breaking film, Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, Dulquer Salmaan is all set to return to the big screen, with yet another interesting story. For those who don't know, Dulquer is a popular actor, who has appeared in films like Charlie, Sita Ramam, Kali and more. After doing charming roles in previous films, Dulquer is all set to return as a superstar in the film, Kaantha. 

Kaantha trailer is out

On November 06, 2025, the makers of the film, Kaantha dropped the official trailer of the film both in Tamil and Telugu. The 3-minute trailer features Dulquer Salmaan as 'Chandran' and a director, 'Ayya' (played by Samuthirakani). From the trailer, it can be said that the film is about the battle of power, fame and ego between 'Chandran' and 'Ayya'. 

The story of Kaantha revolves around 'Chandran', who rises to fame under the guidance of 'Ayya'. Slowly, 'Chandra' is hailed as the 'King of Acting', and soon the relationship that began with admiration turns sour. As fame and ego take center stage, 'Chandran' attempts to assert control over 'Ayya’s' artistic vision, renaming a female-centric project titled 'Shaantha to Kaantha'. The disagreement intensifies, leading to emotional and physical confrontations. 

The release date of Kaantha was pushed because of Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra

The dark psychological drama, Kaantha is directed by Selvamani Selvaraj and stars Dulquer Salmaan, Samuthirakani, Bhagyashri Borse, Rana Daggubati and more. The film, Kaantha is produced by Rana Daggubati and Dulquer Salmaan under the production house Wayfarer Films. 

It is worth mentioning that Kaantha was originally supposed to release in September 2025, but considering the theatrical success of Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, the release date was pushed to November. For those who don’t know, the Malayalam film, Lokah is also produced by Dulquer Salmaan and it turned out to be the highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time. The Tamil film, Kaantha will be released on November 14, 2025, and it is also dubbed in Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada. 

Fans’ reaction to the trailer of Kaantha

The trailer of the Tamil film was dropped on November 06, 2025, and within a few hours, a lot of fans flooded the comment section with excitement and praises. One fan commented, "Dq has a very unique style of filmography. Every film different genre different characterization." Another fan wrote, "Dq not an India's biggest superstar. But, Dq is India's biggest actor & producer... He is continuously proving for definition of actor is more than superstar." A third user penned, "The trailer looks awesome. Wishing Good luck, Dulquer Salmaan Garu from India's biggest superstar Prabhas fans."
