Popular Marathi film actress Jyoti Chandekar, passed away at the age of 69 after a long illness. It was in Pune where clouds of sorrow burst forth in the life of her daughter, Tejaswini Pandit. The actress has been very close to her mother, and a while back, she took to her social media handle to give an update on when the funeral rites of her departed mom will take place. Jyoti left behind a deep legacy in theatre as well as Marathi cinema.
Jyoti's funeral is all set to take place at Pune's Vaikunth crematorium. She was known for her phenomenal screen presence in both movies as well as TV shows. Now, Jyoti's daughter, Tejaswini, took to her Instagram Stories a while back to share a tribute note for her departed mother. The note was written in Marathi for her departed Aai (mother). The heart-wrenching note revealed details related to Jyoti's funeral, and it read:
"Greetings, It is with deep sorrow that we inform you that our beloved mother, who always lived with a cheerful heart and a smiling face, and everyone’s dearest senior actress Mrs. Jyoti Chandekar Pandit, has passed away today, 16th August, at the age of 69 after a brief illness. Her last rites will be held tomorrow, 17th August, at 11:00 a.m. at Vaikunth Crematorium, Navi Peth, Pune. In grief: Tejaswini Pandit, Poornima Pandit, and the entire Chandekar-Pandit family."
Jyoti is best known for her work in the movie, Mee Sindhutai Sapkal (2010), where she portrayed the role of the mom of 'Sindhutai'. The movie received a lot of wide praise, and her role was also loved by all the critics as well as the audiences. Jyoti is also known for her work in movies such as Guru (2016), Deva Ek Atrangi (2017), and Ticha Umbartha. Jyoti's career spanned over five decades, and over the years, she did many Marathi movies, dramas, as well as TV serials.
Jyoti is known for playing the role of varied characters with a lot of honesty and depth. She had important roles in movies such as Dharmakanya, Dholki, Paoolwaat, and Sojourner. On the TV, Jyoti also rose to fame due to her work in serials such as Tujha Majha Breakup and Tu Sukhakarta. Well, what illness Jyoti suffered has not been made public, and the exact cause of her demise has also not been shared with anyone.
Jyoti is also best known for her epic role in Tharla Tar Mag, where she played the character of 'Poorna Aaji'. She had earlier faced a lot of health-related issues because of which she had to exit the show. Jyoti's daughter, Tejaswini, had commented on the resilience of her mom and also shared how she had to be admitted to the ICU and undergo gallbladder surgery. Her heartfelt message read:

"She was unwell. For the last two weeks, she has been in the ICU. Now that she has recovered, my Poorna Aaji will be back on the show. The destination will be found, even if it means wandering. Lost is the one who never left home."
