Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber are one of the much-loved couples in Hollywood. The couple never skips a chance to leave people in awe with their mushy bond. After dating for three years, Justin and Hailey got married in 2018, and later they celebrated their union with a huge celebration in Carolina in 2019.
The couple welcomed their baby boy in 2024, and they are going stronger each passing day. Justin and Hailey's relationship has always been a topic of discussion, and an influencer recently found herself in the middle of legal trouble as she made comments about the Bieber couple's marriage. Here's what exactly happened!
Recently, TMZ obtained the letter written by the Bieber couple's attorney to TikToker Julie Theis. As per the attorney, Julie Theis posted fabricated, outrageous, false and defamatory content about Justin and Hailey Bieber's marriage on social media. As per the letter, Theis was the one who called the couple's marriage an abusive relationship, stemming from drug addiction.
The claims that Theis made on her TikTok are tagged as 'highly damaging' for the Bieber couple, which led them to take the high road and send a cease and desist, demanding the removal of the videos that the TikToker posted on her social media, claiming that Justin and Hailey are in an abusive relationship. Julie Theis was also asked to refrain from posting such 'defamatory' content on the Bieber couple.
On the other hand, Julie Theis also reacted to the entire case that erupted. She, in her videos, claimed that she received the cease and desist, while adding that her comments on social media about the couple were 'opinion-based commentary about relationship dynamics and power.' Talking to TMZ, Theis shared that she is concerned that Hailey and Justin are trying to stop her from expressing her own opinion, while adding that she has the right to make free speech, without legal intimidation. She also added that she takes it to be extremely elitist for someone to stop someone from expressing their opinions, just because they disagree, as it's not defamation. She said:
"It’s extremely elitist to try to silence opinions just because you disagree. Disagreement is not defamation."
