June Lockhart Dies At 100, 'Lost In Space' Co-star Had Shared She Was 'Healthy' Few Months Back

June Lockhart, the Hollywood icon of the 40s, has passed away at the age of 100, a few months after her 'Lost In Space' co-star, Bill Mumy, had said that she was 'fine and healthy'.

June Lockhart had dominated the screens for decades, starting from the 1930s. As one of the last surviving actors from Hollywood's Golden Age, she had a career spanning over eight decades. She not only saw the evolution of the film industry, but was also part of the change herself. June Lockhart has passed away at 100 and will forever be remembered as a classic Hollywood icon. 

June Lockhart dies at 100: What was the cause of death? 

June Lockhart was 100 when she passed away on October 23, 2025, in Santa Monica, California. As per reports, she was surrounded by her daughter, June Elizabeth, and granddaughter, Christianna, when she breathed her last. The veteran actress' death was announced by her spokesman, who stated that she passed away from 'natural causes'. No further explanation has been provided for June Lockhart's cause of death. 

June Lockhart's Lost In Space co-star, Bill Mumy had talked about her health a few months back 

June Lockhart was born on June 25, 1925, to actors Gene Lockhart and Kathleen Lockhart. On the occasion of her 100th birthday in 2025, June's Lost in Space co-star, Billy Mumy, had shared her health update with ReMind Magazine, a few months before her death. Bill shared that the centenarian had two assistants and lived in her home. He mentioned that although June had stepped back from the public eye, she was still 'fine and healthy' and took a great interest in politics. He shared:

"She follows the politics, she reads the news, but she doesn't talk on the phone and she doesn't — obviously — she's not going to put on all her makeup and go out and do a convention or anything anymore, but she's, well, she's fine. She's healthy."

Jon Provost, another one of June's on-screen sons from the film, Lassie, had also stated how lively she was despite her age. He had said that when they met at an autograph show a few years prior, June had stretched into a yoga pose despite being well above 90. Jon recalled what June had said to him when he asked her about her managing to remain young-looking, and stated:

"I once asked her how she stayed so young-looking. She said, 'I've had great work done and some young boyfriends'. Whatever her formula, it worked. June has always been her own person.… And now she is 100 years young. She is truly amazing in every way."

June Lockhart stepped into the world of entertainment at the age of eight when she performed at the Metropolitan Opera's Peter Ibbetson. She marked her film debut at the age of 13 in the movie, A Christmas Carol, where her real-life parents played the role of her on-screen ones. Talking about her personal life, June had been married twice. She was first married to John F. Maloney from 1951 to 1959. They shared two daughters, Anne and June Elizebeth, a.k.a. Lizabeth. Then she married John Lindsay; however, they divorced in 1970. June Lockhart never remarried after that.
