Juhi Chawla Refused To Re-Shoot Kissing Scene With Sunny Deol, 'As Per Contract I'll Do Only One..'

Juhi Chawla was loved for her cute and cheerful vibes, which she portrayed in the start of her career. Her pairing with Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan was also loved by many. However, Juhi Chawla and Sunny Deol's on-screen chemistry was also another hit. The two was loved in the film, Darr, and later in the film, Lootere.

The producer revealed how Juhi Chawla denied re-shooting the kissing scene with Sunny Deol

Recently, Suneel Darshan opened up about Juhi Chawla and how she was an amazing star, courtesy of her films such as Sultanat and Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. After which, they decided to cast her in Lootere. Suneel Darshan revealed that it was difficult to show Juhi Chawla as sex symbol. However, Juhi was convinced in portraying the hot role. He recalled the instance when she agreed for one kissing scene with Sunny Deol. She signed the contract which had a lip-to-lip kiss sequence between Juhi and Sunny. He added that they decided to shoot the scene at the end, and erected and an outdoor set but in the last moment Juhi didn't arrive. He said:

"Juhi was convinced, but also confused. It feels like nadaaniyan today, but there’s a very cute instance that happened. When we narrated her the film and signed the contract, there was a key lip-to-lip kissing sequence between Juhi and Sunny. So, the first time we tried to shoot that scene, we saved it for the end. We’d erected a set outdoors, but realised that day that Juhi was missing."

Suneel further reveaeld that Juhi used the shoot of another film in Udaipur as an excuse to miss the shoot that day. But Suneel insisted that they complete the shoot as it was an important sequence of the film. He claimed that the kissing scene was an important for the film. 

Suneel added that the kissing sceen was shot using multile cameras so that they could capture it in a single take. He further that as soon as the scene was over, Juhi wore a robe and headed back, but the makers wanted another take of the scene. Suneel approaced Juhi and told her, but she straight away said that she had only only one kissing scene as per contract and she had done that. Suneel revealed that it was a milestone film in Juhi's career and the whole film revolved around her and it was a big thing to have a heroine-centric film back in those days. He was quoted as saying:

"'Mr. Darshan, as per contract, I was supposed to do one kiss. I’ve done that already'. It feels like childishness today, but it was very sweet. So, we never shot a retake but retained the first take in the final cut. It’s a remarkable film in Juhi’s career. The whole film revolves around Juhi. It was a big thing to have a heroine-centric film that had a hero at that time."
