Juhi has often refrained from talking about her brother, Bobby. However, once during an interview, journalist, Komal Nahta asked Juhi about her brother, who was in a coma then. The mention of Bobby’s name suddenly in the midst of an interview baffled Juhi, who tried to avoid the question. But after being cajoled by Nahta, Juhi tried to answer and broke down into tears.
Wiping off the tears from her eyes, Juhi recomposed herself and tried to get the strength to speak about Bobby’s condition. Waiting throughout the interview, Juhi said:
“When this incident happened, I don’t know how should I explain what I felt. My world was shattered. I wasn’t thinking about what to do. In the beginning, I was shocked. My mother-in-law is like my mother. She stood by me at this difficult hour. I could not sleep. For months, I could not do anything. Later I realised that I was able to whatever I could but one will have to step out and live life. That’s what I did. It’s been 2.5 years now. I visit hospital very less. Today, I went to tie him a rakhi. My heart breaks.”

As soon as the video went viral on Reddit, social media users called out Komal Nahta for being insensitive towards Juhi and forcing her to answer the question. One of the users wrote, “Juhi was having a breakdown and he was still pushing the question with a smirk.” Another one commented, “OMG I would've gotten up and walked out. What the actual F is this. She's clearly unable to even compose herself enough to talk. Why would you press on? Just why.”

Once in an interview with film critic, Rajeev Masand, Juhi talked about her brother, Bobby and shared how his death came as a massive jolt to her. In her words:
“He was older, so we were not close in that way, but of course, he was my only brother and after my parents passed away, you think your brother is going to be there forever, you are going to grow old together. But what happened to him was something I had never ever thought of or heard that it could happen to anybody close to me, So, when people say that why are you so humble and why are you so simple, I always say that I have seen the best, but I have also seen the worst.”
The way Juhi handled herself post her brother, Bobby Chawla’s death was commendable. Her loss was immense, but the way she fathomed the courage to speak about proved how strong-willed she is.
