In a heart-to-heart conversation with Mashable India, John Abraham shared the emotional story behind the purchase of his Maruti Suzuki Gypsy 4X4. The actor revealed that it had been his goal since his childhood to buy a Gypsy, as back then, his family couldn't afford it. Elaborating on the same, he said:
"When I was in school, my father (Abraham John) got cheated by his partner. He had a Gypsy booked at that time. I still remember, my dad had tears in his eyes and said ‘beta mujhe pata nhi (I don’t know) tomorrow how will we get food on this table.' We couldn't buy that Gypsy, so I always thought one day in my life I will buy a gypsy. And I took a Gypsy, so that for me is an emotional thing. It's that girlfriend you never had, that's my Gypsy."
Further in the conversation, John also spoke about his first car, Tata Sierra, and shared how he had bought it from his distant relative. He added that his relative had told him that the car was going to bring him a lot of good luck. Talking about the same, he said:
"I had purchased this car after agreeing to a “condition” that whenever I was looking to sell it I will have to sell it back to my distant relative. When I went back to sell the Tata Sierra to my relatives house, the latter had passed away and I had to give the car to my relative’s son."

During the promotions of his upcoming film, Attack, the film's lead actor, John Abraham had opened up about his decision of deleting all the pictures from his Instagram handle, a few weeks back. Although, the actor had later unarchived all the posts, which he had hidden earlier and had revealed that it was a promotional gimmick. However, John hadn't restored the pictures he had with his wife, Priya Runchal, and other family members. Revealing the reason behind not flaunting his personal life on social media, in a press conference, he had shared his views on the same and had said:
"Social media is a powerful medium, especially for me as I'm an animal lover, so to protect animals, it is a great medium. My problem is I don't know how to use social media, I'm not good at it. So when someone's really not good at it, then I don't know why I need to be there."
On the work front, John Abraham will be next seen in the film, Attack.
