The legal charges levied on Joseph Duggar stem from allegations involving inappropriate behavior with a minor during a 2020 trip to Florida. According to court documents cited by People, he has been accused of misbehaving with a minor under the age of 12. Joseph is facing serious charges related to lewd and lascivious behavior that carry serious legal consequences. Some reports have alleged that these allegations surfaced after a forensic interview where the victim detailed multiple similar incidents. Another affidavit claims that Joseph admitted to some of these actions during his phone call with the victim's father.

On the other hand, his wife, Kendra, was taken into custody in Arkansas for a separate case where charges related to child welfare were filed against her. Authorities charged them with multiple counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor and false improperly. According to reports, these charges arose during their home inspection, when cops found exterior locks on their interior doors. Notably, these charges are not directly linked to Joseph's charges. So, she was released after spending hours in custody on a bond while the investigation into her case continues.
