Jen Shah To Be Released Early From Jail? Here's What We Know About RHOSLC Star's Prison Release Date

Jen Shah is an American TV personality who is widely known for her role in the popular TV series, The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City (RHOSLC). However, in 2021, her arrest involving a controversial telemarketing fraud scheme had garnered a lot of limelight. For the unversed, in March 2021, she was arrested. Now, according to the latest reports, her six-and-a-half year sentence has been cut short and she will be released soon from the federal court.

Jen Shah's manager, Chris Giovanni opens up about her early release

According to a report by People, Jen Shah will be released on December 10, 2025 by the Federal Bureau of Prisons. Speaking to People, Jen’s manager, Chris Giovanni shared that everyone is very grateful for the Bureau of Prisons’ decision to release Jen early. Chris mentioned that the early release is a 'gift' to Jen as she will reunite with her family for the holidays. He highlighted that Jen is a different person now and has changed herself a lot during her time in the prison. He added that the actress do understands the mistakes she committed and want to move on. Chris Giovanni was quoted as saying:

"Everyone's very grateful for the BOP's decision, especially because it means Jen will be able to reunite with her family for the holidays. She's done a lot of reflecting and real growth during her time away, and is genuinely not the same woman as she was before. Her focus is on her family and building a healthier, more grounded life. She understands the seriousness of the mistakes she made and is excited to put this chapter behind her so that she can show everyone the woman she's worked hard to become."

Where is Jen Shah currently?

The 52-year-old actress is currently at the Federal Prison Camp in Bryan, Texas. She has been kept under minimum-security facility along with popular inmates, Elizabeth Holmes and Ghislaine Maxwell. Very little information is available about her present living conditions in the jail. Speaking about the same, a representative for the Federal Bureau of Prisons told People:

"For privacy, safety, and security reasons, we do not discuss any incarcerated individual’s conditions of confinement or specific release plans."

In March 2021, during the production of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City (RHOSLC) Season 2, Jen and one of her assitants, Stuart Smith, were arrested in Utah. The duo were charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering in connection to telemarketing. In April 2021, both Jen and Stuart pleaded not guilty, but later the duo changed their plea. For those unaware, Stuart changed his plea to guilty in November 2021, while Jen did it in July 2022.

Earlier Priya Chaudhry, an attorney of Jen told People that the TV reality star is a 'good woman who crossed a line'. She highlighted that the actress accepted the mistakes she committed. The star is also sorry for disappointing her family members including husband and children. Priya was quoted as saying:

"Ms. Shah is a good woman who crossed a line. She accepts full responsibility for her actions and deeply apologizes to all who have been harmed. Ms. Shah is also sorry for disappointing her husband, children, family, friends, and supporters. Jen pled guilty because she wants to pay her debt to society and put this ordeal behind her and her family."

During her sentencing, Jen herself confessed about her actions. She mentioned that she is trying to earn the funds for the people whom she cheated and is extremely sorry for her actions. According to a latest report, Jen has to repay USD 6.5 million to the people who got cheated. Her good behaviour and involvement in prison programs also reduced her time in jail. In March 2023, her time in jail was cut short by one year and again in October 2024, an additional eight months were granted.

In January 2025, it was reduced again moving her last serving date to November 3, 2026. In August 2025, it was reduced for the fourth time, making her departure to August 30, 2026. Although where she will go on December 10, 2025, is still not revealed, as per the prison rules, Jen will either move to her home or to a halfway house where she will complete the rest of her sentence. Before she leaves on December 10, 2025, the decision will be made.
