Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan have always been hailed as the power couple. But not many know that they are also like any normal family. There was a time when the Bachchans were extremely close to the late politician Amar Singh. In fact, the two families shared a loving bond, but things turned ugly after their fight—so much so that Amar Singh shared some shocking revelations (which were extremely personal and unneeded) about the Bachchans in the media.
In an interview with Dainik Bhaskar, the late Amar Singh made some shocking claims on Jaya Bachchan's behaviour towards her in-laws. The interview was given eight years ago. Singh said that Jaya had a strained relationship with Amitabh's parents. This came as a shock as Amitabh never expressed any sourness towards Jaya. The politician claimed that Jaya would mistreat Teji Bachchan and Harivansh Rai Bachchan.

It was one of the major reasons the in-laws lived in a separate house. Earlier, they were staying at their home in Delhi, but when Harivansh Rai Bachchan and Teji Bachchan's health deteriorated, they shifted to Amitabh's bungalow, Pratiksha. However, due to their strained relationships at home, Amitabh and Jaya live in separate homes. Amitabh shifted to a bungalow named Pratiksha with his parents, and Jaya stayed in Jalsa.
Earlier, a Redditor took to the discussion platform Reddit and revealed that Jaya Bachchan once made a shocking remark about her father-in-law, Harivansh Rai Bachchan. The clip is from the famous poet and Amitabh Bachchan's father, Harivansh Rai Bachchan, 's 80th birthday celebration.
The video featured Teji Bachchan, Amitabh Bachchan, Harivansh Rai Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan. The superstar, Amitabh, was seen discussing rhyming limericks about the age, and asked him what he would say about turning 80. To this, Harivansh Rai Bachchan said:

"Aasi mein lapsi."
A surprised Teji Bachchan asked him the meaning of lapsi, and Harivansh Rai Bachchan added that only UP people would understand it. At the end of the video, Jaya Bachchan jumped in and asked what they should say when he would turn 100, and she straight away made a mean remark stating that he would not be able to speak. She was quoted as saying:
"Ki jab Aap 100 ke hoge toh aap toh nai bol payege na.. Toh hum bolege na."

Harivansh Rai Bachchan, in his autobiography wrote that once the wedding ceremony was over, he greeted his daughter-in-law, Jaya's father and congratulated him on having a son-in-law like Amitabh Bachchan. And while he was expecting similar words, Jaya's father, Taroon Kumar Bhaduri, exclaimed, "My Family is utterly ruined". The excerpt from the book can be read as:
“Before we left, I embraced the father of my new daughter-in-law and congratulated him on getting a son-in-law like Amit, expecting him to say the same in respect of Jaya. But he said, ‘My family is utterly ruined.'”
